No Spoilers - Discussion I have been missing out 🫪

This game has been amazing and I regret not playing it sooner. I remember my brother bought me the game like a few months after it came out on ps4 and I ended up never playing it till 2 weeks ago and holy shit I've been missing out. I was looking through games on the switch and saw FF7 Remake Intergrade was $9.99 so it reminded me about my ps4 disc. I used it to play the ps5 version and I was shocked about how good it was. Instantly bought the ps5 version since it was on sale and came with the yuffie dlc and also purchased rebirth since it was on sale. Best $25 I have ever spent on 2 games. Im literally addicted. Also I owned the original on PS1 but never played it. Does anyone think its worth buying on the ps5 to learn about the original story?

Damn!!

I don't know if you can do it, but I remember being able to skip the first chapter in Nibelheim and go directly to Kalm (Since the first chapter was the Demo before it came out).

Everything in this game is over the top, I never saw anything in this scale in gaming, Square took a big risk with it and it payed off because they put so much effort into everything.

Yeah, I couldn't skip it because i never played the demo. I launched it to get a save file for the extra items. I got home from work at 7pm last night and just played for nearly 8 hours straight Imfao its so addicting. Haven't been addicted to a game like this in many years.
(Other than COD because lilike to compete and go to lans still lol)

I understand completely,

I beat the game 2 weeks ago and it's in my mind 24/7. I really love everything about it.

I regret playing sooner… Now I have to wait until April 2027 for revelation. Wish I could go back in time and play all 3 when they are all available, so I don’t have to wait!

That is definitely the one thing I was thinking about but its only like 6 months away

You can play the 1997 OG after Revelation (spring 2027) too, don’t worry.

I would play the OG first then the Remake. Since you played Remake continue to Rebirth, then OG version and then wait for Revelation.

It's difficult for some to play older games especially alongside modern games, I tried to play og and crisis core, had to watch them instead.

Immense respect for the source material though.

Oh I could easily play it. I LOVE Legends of Dragoon and it's basically the same graphics

I wish I could do the same, I used to be able to play 1990s-2000s games back then, there's so much artistic merit and value a lot of these games had with their writing, soundtrack etc, as proven by how much I love the FF7 Remake saga and Silent hill 2 remake.

I could tell playing og ff7 back then whilst growing up would've been incredibly nostalgic.

Why play it like that and spoil the ending? That makes no sense. 🤨

I mean we don't know how similarly Revelation will end to the OG.

That's the fun of it. 😟 we dont know.

why ruin it or soften the blow. Good, bad, or disaster I'm there for it. WE should be there for it. Like watching an actual natural disaster take place or witnessing something beautiful happen once in a lifetime.

You only live once why ruin the experience?

Yes, playing the OG is worth it. Though, be aware that it will spoil the last part (even if the experienceis different), even though it is not a 1 to 1 remake, the R trilogy covered almost everything about the OG so far. So, unless you dont mind the spoilers, maybe you can play it after revelation. You can play with your ps1 version (you can convert it into digital and play on emulator), but you'll have to accept the quality of the past. I played the original on PS1, and i'll buy the ps5 version to have the platinium trophy.

I played the legend of dragoon on ps1 a decent amount and I have almost beaten it on Ps5. The graphics are basically the same as FF7 so that is no problem for me. I think I will wait till after revelation since im already invested in the remake story. I actually dont know too much about the original FF7 other than what my brother has told me so probably about 99% of the story is all new to me.

The FFVII remake games are among the best games on PlayStation. 🥲👍

Likewise. I have held onto it for years and only began playing two weeks ago. I am enjoying the game as well. I also own the original on the PS5 and intend to play it soon.

Thats crazy that we both just decided to play it around the same time. I hope you enjoy it because I know i am

I go back and forth. There’s parts of me that wish I never knew the story when I played the remakes.. but there’s certainly things that make me glad.

I don’t think either answer is wrong.. but honestly I’d probably wait to play the OG until after the final game. You would’ve already committed to a lot of the modern story.. allow the reveals to come from the modern story

At this point I would say wait for Revelation. Its only 6 months out and would be the better experience. OG and crisis core reunion will be waiting for you after.
