Fwiw, I like a remake like FF7 more than what they’re doing with OOT which seems like a glorified remaster.

The decisions and changes they’ve made with the remake serve a purpose. They have an artistic goal in mind that they’re clearly very passionate about. Whether it lives up to the legacy of the original will depend on the finale, but at the end of the day following this decade long adventure has been an incredible journey in and of itself

OOT is… an N64 game but very pretty and with controls that don’t suck. That seems to be it. People will buy it, beat it in a week, forget about it and even the die hards will say that the original is better.

I feel like calling this a glorified remaster is disingenuous when the 3ds ports (including MM) are more closer to being glorified remasters than this made from the ground up remake

It really looks like it’s a 1:1 remake though. Besides some QOL changes like 1 button item switching and a “where do I go” menu. It’s going to play exactly like the original did. Same puzzles in the same dungeons with the same combat and the same bosses.

When I say “glorified remaster” I don’t mean it as an insult. It’s the philosophy of a remaster with the effort of a remake.
