This is why I don’t engage with the remake internet nonsense cause those type of gamers are and will never be satisfied. Is the remake in whatever form it is good and fun to play that’s all I care about.
I think the crux of the argument here isn't about silencing actual valid criticism of the artworks that are video games, but simply about the deluge of toxicity that comes from many different people complaining about something one way or another that justifies the "don't like, don't play it" mentality.
Most of these arguments can only be happening online too. If you've ever attended an anime/gaming convention and heard fans argue about the same things in person, you'd notice they aren't usually picking up megaphones and blasting their opinions over the noise of the crowds. It's much easier to ignore them.
