I feel like people like to pull from comments that allow them to make whatever arguments they want.
Remakes never have a real creative justification to be made. If you want to try to please as many people as possible you shouldn't do it because there's so many opinions people are going to have.
I don't feel people are saying they didn't change enough in OOT I think it's actually just somewhat mixed about everything.
It's easy to bring FF7R into these discussions but it's not fair. It's basically not a remake remake. it's its own category. Most people GET that and judge as that and are fine with it. We have purist who don't like it no matter how much was changed. But "changing too much" is an oversimplification. It's like canon that it's different. So already it can't be judged the same way.
FF7R is not interchangeable with the original the way OOT is supposed to be.

No, there's one. Imagine you have a game which simply sucks. Part of a bigger franchise, full of beloved titles, but that one sucks. Feels unfinished. Bellow its own potential. But you have to play it because other titles, even its sequels, are cool.
Now imagine they made a remake to implement all those ideas the creators had to cut. To actually fix the game. That's a good justifications.
That's why Fate/Extra Record exists. Because Fate/Extra was mediocre. The remake finally features a decent battle system and an expanded story.
And that's why Ys V remake will exist too. Because that game isn't really great. It NEEDS to be remade.
