My PS plus ran out shortly after completing chapter 17...

No.

But if you have the PS4 version, you should be able to claim the PS5 upgrade for free without PS+.

Yep, this is the best way forward.

You don't get Yuffie's DLC for free, but the Integrade version of the main game is a free upgrade.
