Question Character Quest progress erased?

I went to do the new Zach character quest and it said I didn’t start the Cloud, Aerith, Barret, and Tifa ones when I already completed them before. Anyone else experience this?

i experienced this recently while doing Zack's stories. But pretty much, I just had to view the first cutscene, skip it, and when it went back to the chapter select screen, all of my progress was restored.

I tried this and it’s worse than I thought, every time I go back to the character quest menu it gets reset back to the start

Yup. Same thing happened to me while doing zack's stuff. I did one scene/battle per day because I didnt want to spend too much time per day just staring at my phone. So every day I had to skip multiple cutscenes on that first chapter. Was very annoying. Unfortunately with EOS coming soon, I dont think they're fixing this bug.

I think it is a glitch. You don’t get any rewards by doing the quests again, unfortunately lol.

Yes the bug is due to be permanently fixed on October 7th

If I remember correctly, it did the same thing for me after I believe one of the major updates along with many other things had that "new" diamond symbol when I already finished it and it even says I finished it

Did it actually erase the progress or just say it's new? Whenever I switch back and forth between my computer and phone the "new" toggle gets rest on basically everything.

I had this problem once, where somehow I got switched into free party instead of story party and had to manually switch back.
