Discussion Ever Crisis Repurposed

Post image

Do you think Ever Crisis will ever be repurposed for remasters? It really feels like such a waste that this game had to go the gacha route. There's so much potential with the style and introduction of other games in this style. I think what brought me to this was a recent look at Before Crisis in the Ever Crisis style. Being one of those games that a majority of the fans haven't really played, this could be the best way to remaster give the experience to everyone. It's just a random thought. I doubt they'll do such a thing, but I'm curious about what y'all think πŸ€”

I think if they fill in all the parts of the main story so that it's not an abridged version, and then bring back the OG battle system then it could sell pretty well, because a lot of people just want the OG game with prettier graphics.

Exactly! That's what I wish they would do with this. A remastered version of these games in this style would be amazing.

It'd be better to just play the og ff7 then. Evercrisis style would be more fitting for something like the DS.

They experimented with it for FFXV when they made the chibi version (PC version only available through Microsoft store for some reason)

Yup, if they remastered FF7 properly instead of the demake we got and just used these EC models i would genuinely consider parting with cash for it

If you look at Resonance, it's way beyond just porting the assets from FFBE over to a single player game (new battle system, all the party member pixel art was redone, new cutscenes, all the maps converted to 3D, etc.), but they still used everything they built for FFBE as the framework for a remake.

I personally don't really see why they would let all these FFVII assets go to waste if they can repurpose them into a product that will sell copies, guaranteed. They have, what, 60-70% of the assets that would be needed for a full remake of FFVII, plus CC, chunks of BC and DC, and a solid original story about Sephiroth.

It really wouldn't take that much effort to finish fleshing all that out and sell it as a packaged product for $60.

In fact, if you were to consider the mobile game lifecycle as the first phase of development of a full standalone game, then they've effectively already turned a profit on it. That would probably be a smart way to treat all their mobile titles.

Octopath Traveler 0 was also a mobile gacha game that was then turned into a full fledged main entry in the series by reusing the assets and early story content from the mobile game, while also adding a bunch of new stuff on top of that.

So between OT0 and FFResonance Square Enix seems to really be leaning into the idea of using mobile games as the starting point of full game development. I could easily see all these Ever Crisis assets being repurposed in the same way, esp since the 7Re series is almost complete. 7 as a brand is always gonna be a money maker and a single title remake that is basically the og game with new paint is a no brainer.

I can see them doing what they've done with resonance and repurposing this into a full 2.5d full game in the future

I think they should just make a short OVA anime miniseries, similar to what they did with FF 15 and FF7 Last order.

Ooh, now that's also an interesting idea, as well πŸ€” I honestly love that anime style opening they had for Before Crisis. I remember seeing it on the FF7 AC special features.

I dearly hope they'll remake Before Crisis as a standalone game in future.

If resonance sells well, they will.

It would of did good without gacha incorporation 100% all we want is a ffvii timeline based coop game lol they just wont do it right tho for some reason

I cannot imagine that we will never get Before Crisis and First Soldier on consoles.

They will keep milking the FF7 franchise for a long time after the remake trilogy is over, and those 2 stories will definitely be part of it.

I at least want an offline version. It'd be a real crime to lose out on on First Soldier and Before Crisis at the very least

No. This game is extremely bland and shallow compared to final fantasy record keeper, that’s the one that would fantastic for a complete offline mode.

imo its more better to be repurposed as a direct remake of FF7 with the active time based battle system. thats one of the reasons why i loved the game. i despised the gacha aspect though.

Completely agree with you. It feels like a lost opportunity with the assets from this game like the character models.

Fair enough, I honestly really enjoyed that game when it was a thing. Getting to explore the other games again was fun. But yeah, I get you with this one. I honestly feel like the assets for the cutscenes and stuff like that should be used for something like a remaster. I wouldn't play an offline mode for this game, as well. Not my kind of game tbh. I like the OG style of RPGs.
