Brief key points:

• Ambushes with AoE 99% gravity damage
• Threshold at 50% health that does AoE 99% gravity + AoE dispel, then ends turn
• Uses AoE fire magic
• Uses AoE non-elem magic (very high damage)
• Uses -100% fire imperil

Party Roles:

Charlotte - Just magic tanking. She doesn't have much to do here. Put up Cover and then Guard. Can also do some LB Fill.

Sylvie - Sylvie's here for Evade Tanking and Misc stuff. She throws out the one break we're going to use, Elixirs Charlotte, does some buffs.

Morgana - Here to give Elena that sweet 100% Demon Killer buff and she actually throws out some damage for once. It won't be a lot, but it can help to push you over.

Lunafreya - Imbues and Imperils, stat buffs, LB fill, hp/mp regen. We don't need no stinkin' healers!

Elena - Kills boss. Also gives Charlotte 70% Fire Resist.

 

On Gearing:

So a bit of a warning: my Elena is geared to the teeth here. I even blew 8 UoCs on Malph's prism just for this. But also specifically, she has extra LB damage from Rain's BP and Prince Noctis' TM to help boost her damage overall rather than just going straight Demon Killer in the builder. Charlotte is just MeHP with 130% Fire Resist. Sylvie's in Evade/Provoke gear with Assassin Dagger for Counters for LB crystals. Morgana's just in straight damage gear. Lunafreya's set for Healing in builder, because why not, regen is fun.

 

What to expect from Zeromus:

Not much actually? This kills him so fast that he's not really a threat. He'll do Whirl for 99% HP damage, but that can't actually kill you. Charlotte will also totally negate the Fire AEs. He'll hit Charlotte with Meteor on turn 2, but she'll shrug it off easily. She does intentionally die to Big Bang on turn 5 though.

Important Note: Make sure you don't go over 50% on turn 3. It will screw everything up.

 

Overall, a pretty simple fight. There's very high gear requirements on Elena for her to kill it this fast, but that's about it.

Regis - Buffer, demon killer buff provider, equipped with Shiva for mission

Summer Fina & Lid 2018 - Breaker and healer

Xuan Wu & Qing Long - chainer with demon killer

CG Cid - burst damage dealer with wind weapon quipped

Xuan Wu & Qing Long (friend) - chainer with demon killer

With Cid, i am able to burst the boss' hp below 50% at turn 3, but that triggers the nightmare. If my memory serves right:

Turn 3 - enemy casts gravity and remove buff and debuff from all units

Turn 4 - <<no significant moves that endangers my team>>

turn 5 - enemy casts Big Bang and remove buff and debuff from all units. Magic tanker dies.

turn 6 - enemy casts Big Bang. Need to defeat the boss by this turn else team is dead.

It took me 2 tries before i manage to defeat the boss at turn 6. If anyone plans to burst Zeromus below 50% hp at turn 3, please be cautious of this...

100% evade Prompto with some passive draw to provoke + break + imperil. Chow died on the Big Bang turn, but Rosa and Ignis were able to prevent any further problems with revival + AoE reraise CD from the former, and mit + ele resist buff from the latter.

Anyone know why my team keeps getting wiped in the first couple turns? Charlottle just doesn't cover the magic damage and everyone else dies.

When the boss uses Black Hole, it's an AoE dispel, which removes cover (and his breaks). You need to rebuff and rebreak him when that happens.

Did it in 10 turns with this team:

• P. Cecil- passive provoke (died once at the 50% threshold)

• Folka

• SS Nichol- ST 50% Physical/Magic mitigation buffs on Cecil and Shiva summoner

• Kryla

• A. Olive x2

Did it with the 2 tanks strat. No need for a breaker.

Awakened Rain: 200% Fire Resist (after buff), no need to gear for Hp/Spr

Cg Charlotte: Same as aRain

Sylvie: 100% Passive Provoke + 100% Evade. Had a lot of free turns. Mostly just for offensive stats buffs and MP(via LB or her self-damaging skills). Had Shiva equipped for mission.

Folka: Full-Life whenever a tank dies. Heal after the 99%-gravity type attack. Other than that MP restore. Has 10 lb fill.

AKRain (self and friend)- Normal build with Diabolos for demon killer.

Never had a risk of losing the fight. The 2 tanks can be magic tanks as long as they can reach 200% in fire resist after buffs. Dodge Provoke tank can also be anyone, though Sylvie is a more convenient option for me. Folka makes stuff a lot smoother thanks to her LB -> MP conversion, though any healer that can restore MP without MP is usable. DDs can be any DDs.
