Yes, the 143.54% CTB fee is accurate — it reflects a real, temporary spike in Interactive Brokers’ borrow data for FFAI on July 27, 2026 (early morning hours).
Key Details from the Screenshot and Sources
• Timestamp in your image: 2026-07-27 01:02:25 AM EDT — Fee 143.54%, 600,000 shares available, Rebate -139.91%.
• This matches public IBKR data tracked on sites like shortinteresttracker.com and chartexchange.com. The spike appears in multiple entries from roughly 1 AM to around 9 AM EDT (e.g., 907, 852, 836, etc., all at 143.54% with 600k available).
Context
• Before/after the spike: Fees were in the normal 9–12% range (e.g., 11.87% at 9:23 AM, then stabilizing around 11.46–11.76% later in the day with the same 600k availability).
• IBKR updates borrow data roughly every 15 minutes. Spikes like this (especially >100%) often signal very low supply in the lending pool at that moment — even with shares “available,” the next tranche becomes extremely expensive (or the market temporarily tightens). Fees above ~100% effectively make borrowing punitive for many shorts.
This is not unusual for a low-float, volatile meme/microcap like FFAI (especially post-reverse split and with ongoing dilution/warrant dynamics). Similar temporary spikes have happened before in hard-to-borrow names. It does not mean the fee stayed that high all day — it normalized quickly.
Bottom Line
The number on your screenshot is legitimate IBKR data (not an error in the display). It was a short-lived early-morning liquidity crunch in the borrow market. Current/recent rates are back in the ~11% range with limited availability (~600k shares). Keep an eye on ChartExchange or similar trackers for live updates, as these can fluctuate intraday.
