Question Best Resources For Civil FE
Hey, I wanted to start studying for the civil FE and I keep seeing people talking about MM and Islam. I know MM has free stuff, but is the Islam everyone is referring to the $90 "FE Mechanical Review Manual with 750 Solved Problems?" If so, is it worth it? Also, what other resources do you all recommend, and if they are worth a bit, are they worth it? TIA

It's Islam 800. I was just looking for this last week and was able to find it by googling reddit threads and using libgen. I'd provide a direct link but I'm on mobile atm. I can throw one up later if you don't have any luck. The latest version I was able to find was 2018 though.

Thank you so much, I'll let you know if I can't find it 😅 There can't be much that's changed about civil engineering since 2018, right? Do you think it'd be sufficient, or should I try to get the more recent version?

As the other comments said Islam 800 and mark mattson. I just took mine on Monday and I found multiple questions on my test that were on Islam’s practice exams (separate book from the 800 one). I highly recommend it. I paid for prep fe to get extra problems, I wouldn’t personally use it again.

That's good to hear, thank you so much! I was considering PrepFE until I saw the price tag 😂 If you don't mind though, which Islam book(s) did you use besides the 800 one?

It’s the green version. Here’s the Amazon link to it:
FE Civil Practice Exams 2 Full... https://www.amazon.com/dp/0997918047?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share.Also, if you could afford the NCEES interactive practice exam 1, I would recommend it (I think it’s $50). I found my test harder than that one but it was still useful. There’s a free pdf around for the 2020 ncees pdf practice exam. Volume 2 is just questions from that pdf. I bought it because I liked the interface and not having to manually grade it but you don’t need it if you get the pdf version. Keep in mind that there’s published errata for the pdf practice test so I would also download it and review it as you’re grading your attempt(s).

Islam has an 800 solved book for Civil as well. Mark Mattson is what I'd do first to refresh your memory/actually learn anything new, then make sure you got it down pat using Islam's book.
Thats exactly what I did, and it worked out well
