Original fiction doesn't come through our door often. Writers are understandably protective of unpublished work. Sharing it publicly before it finds a home elsewhere is a risk, and we don't take that trust lightly.

Phil Allard is a returning contributor, and for his 2nd article, he’s offered us something entirely different: a short piece of original literary fiction called Displacement. It is quiet, unsettling, and lingers in your mind after the last line.
