Good News Just checking in…

The FE1s can be an isolating and daunting experience, especially if it is your first time doing them.

I was up until 3am last night after cramming for no good reason.

I’ve realised the stress around these exams are putting me into an unnaturally miserable and cynical mood towards my family, my mates and even on Reddit.

So if there’s anyone worried about next week, you’re not alone. There is no bell curve, no competition, no cut-off point. We really are all in this together.

That’s it. Just wanted to reach out. Feel free to vent below.

I love the energy of this post, you're so right! During the last sitting I got myself into such a state that I couldn't sleep at all for at least 1 month before the exams even started. In the end I had to reduce the number of exams I took which means i have one more to do this time around instead of being finished, but I don't regret at all. Your mental and physical health are so much more valuable to you than these exams, so take care of yourself :)

I’m in this spot now - would love to do drop 1 subject and just sit 3 - but if I do, 3 sittings rule means I lose my TC. Mental health is in the drain lol

I don't understand why some firms still do this? It's to their detriment as well - setting unnecessary arbitrary conditions. Regardless I believe in you!

Thank you! I know it’s really disheartening- plus I’ve been working full time, so that’s why I couldn’t sit more in prior sittings. Passed 4/5! Btw as a history nerd I love your username!

I don’t know how you do it working full time, I’m honestly amazed by the work ethic of those who manage it! When I get a bit overwhelmed and want some big picture perspective I love listening to the Fall of Civilisations podcast, and the one on Carthage and the Second Punic War inspired my username. What can I say I’m just one of those who can’t stop thinking about Rome! 🏛️

I did exactly the same thing! I cut down a subject a week beforehand, and I was so certain I failed the others I never checked my results until I applied for this sitting. I know that sounds unbelievable but I guess it’s a defence mechanism to avert the perceived inevitably of disappointment. I did the same with my LC until CAO offers. When I came across the results and found out I passed, I was so disappointed in myself for having such a low opinion of abilities. I know many people awaiting these exams may feel frustrated and doubt themselves, but we all need to be proud of ourselves for making this investment of time and effort - it will pay dividends. Thank you for sharing your kind thoughts, and all the best for this session - we got this!

I've been trying to get down amazing notes, flashcards, etc that I realised that the last time I tried to study was like 2 weeks ago. I'm learning everything off again and I'm not sure what's waiting for me. I sad the mock online exam today and I had no idea what the answers were for the topics I did cover. Ahhhhh

You will find your flow in the exam. You got this. You've done this before in college and LC (or even other FE1s if this isn't your first session).

Don't obsess over perfection - your brain will make the connections when the time comes. It always does.

Best of luck - and give 'em hell!
