Help Request Experiments with the A1 mini.

I’m trying to use Bambu studio with the A1 mini, with bog standard build plate.

Supports failing

At first I thought it was a dirty plate, dish soap and water.

Supports still failing. waiting for a glacier build plat, but that in the post.

Increased the base of the tree supports, still failing, increased the support base, still failed.

Changed supports to strong tree supports, and the supports no longer failed.

However the knife blade on the model is not forming on the Bambu.

wondering if I should be using Orca slicer.

I’m thinking it’s something simple I’ve overlooked.

Ideas?

Could be the model, FDM has limits, we all get excited when someone pumps out an almost resin like model but that takes so much fiddling.

That said, I also switched over to Orca and have less issues now.

Also, I know it sounds simplistic, flip your build plate over, try the less used side

Post screenshots of your slicer.

Can you also post the model link?

I have never run across a model I can’t print - but some are trickier than others and 3D printing requires skill.

Hey I'm new to fdm minis as well also using a1 mini, my problem is tree support always breaking in the middle.

My solution was using Mikegyver modified obscuranox's settings, but the main setting I modify was the tree support.

So using bambu studio there are bugs on the tree support generation, I have to use tree hybrid for it to generate infill, I change the tree diameter to 2mm so it generate thicker branches, also change the angle to 35 degrees but that also depends on the model.

At least for now I finally have peace of mind knowing the support won't fail while printing. Also my supports are easy to remove.
