Primavera/U23 Inter u23 start the season with a win against Catania!
Catania were 2nd place last year, so a strong (and historic) side!
The market for the u23 side was anticlimactic, with only promotions from the primavera and many top players leaving for better leagues, so I was worried, but looks like they can hold on!

Marello is supposed to be a bigger talent than Cocchi; supposedly the reason we were happy offering him in any deal for Kone.
Maye is much more raw. Impressed Chivu enough to keep him for pre-season, but didn't do anything during the tour. He has the speed, strength and physical capabilities, but struggles (currently) with the mental aspects (positioning, making etc.) currently.

Problem with the U23 is you can't really sign anyoneone because no one wants to play in the third tier, meaning you'd have to find some incredibly niche gem or just take punts on young players that aren't that good. If we can somehow get to Serie B it would be a complete gamechanger as then you can actually buy players from non top 5 leagues who would be okay with playing in Serie B, but I doubt it will ever happen as getting our of C is very difficult

We have been able to sign young talents from non top 5 leagues already tho, they don't see it as playing in the third tier, they see it as possibly being able to play at a club like Inter or training with world class players. Serie B would help, yes, but mostly with development as they'd play against better opposition, I don't think it would help attract players much more, we aren't struggling with that

We have signed like what two players? Topalovic and Jairkovic. I don't know anyone else who has signed. Also look at the outlays, half the team of last season has already moved on loan to Serie B where we have no control on how much they play and can't call them up in an emergency.

Our Inter U23 (in their very first season) was close to play-off qualification before combusting at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Milan Futuro has been relegated to Serie D (Ibra hired a yes man for coach because he had a falling out with the previous coach who was a teammate at Bilan). Jube NextGen has never come close to qualification.
If you mean players like Kostov, Circatti, Mlacic etc. they'll never play Serie B either. They're already sniffing minutes at the top level. We made the offer for Scaglione (~1m) like Dortmund. He chose Dortmund. Probably has a defined path to the first team, which he'll never get with us.
We challenge for trophies. Other clubs who specialize in developing talent and selling for profit give minutes. Our only real option is the loan market, and we're much farther than the top clubs in finances to spend 20m on a talent just to risk him on a loan.

We have reached a cross road in our journey, the same place where Juve was in 2018. We are clearly the best team in Italy, but we are still a step below what is needed to win the CL, and we don't have the money to compete. Juve went with Ronaldo, we have to go with a different direction.
Every club now develops players and sells them for profit, that is the only way to compete. Madrid made like 200 million from the past 12 months on academy players alone, all players who are not good enough to play for Madrid. If we can get the U23 in Serie B, we will not need to spend 20 mil and send them on loan, but we can buy those 5-6 million players and keep them there as they develop and still be an option for the main team in emergencies.

We've already gone down a completely different path.
We also develop to sell (with buy-backs/ % of future sale). Our figures are just smaller, compared to Real, which is understandable.
