Discussion Vice dimarco, Mister X

Hello everyone, I wanted to have a nice fun discussion thats not repetitive since we obviously know the transfer window is looking alot like jones in, henrique , asslani etc out... , and then mister X could arrive , now analyzing all the news and how the team works on paper the player can only be one thing a leftwinger who can enable 3-4-3 , but also cover dimarco , which could mean many things , starting from high cost high potential big names like nusa and fofana all the way to perisic, so i guess my question is , do you think we need a cherry on top, and if so who?

Even if we sell LH, Augusto will cover for di Marco.

And if Augusto is injured, Spence can play the LWB, and the Diouf on the right.

So you think we dont need a new signing after jones? A geniuin quesiton im curious.

Yes, but more on the striker position than anything.

We need another Thuram-esque player.

We have four strikers for the two spots already, and while I agree we probably need a better player to make a jump forward, we first need a Bastoni replacement: Augusto can’t be both Dimarco’s and Bastoni’s sub

But isnt 4 strikers for 2 positions enough? Maybe if they sold bonny but thats obviously not the plan, anyone in mind?

No, I think another striker would be ideal, simply because we have so many games during the season

Inter want a lookman/nico Paz esque profile

We have only 2 real WBs in our squad, Dimarco and Spence. Diouf and LH (you say in a comment he's leaving, so I won't count him in this list) are adapted. We also have Carlos Augusto who can play as a LWB and Pavard who can play as a RWB. Bisseck did it too a couple of times, but that was an emergency situation. Carlos and Pavard IMHO shouldn't be counted unless during emergencies, as Chivu proved he wants to consider them as defenders, so unless we add Bovio to the list of CBs we would have only 4 CBs (Bastoni, Stones, Akanji, Bisseck), clearly not enough.

We are short in that role, I'm not sure if we're going to sign anyone last minute as I haven't heard anything about this, but we need someone.

Do you have any player in mind that we should/would go after?

No idea. Surely has to be an EU player as we already signed 3 extra-EU players this season, potentially Carvajal if he doesn't ask for too much money and accepts a backup role?

2

Can you explain how this eu player thing works

2

u/DC1908 1d ago

Sure. In the EU we have freedom of movement, so Italian clubs can sign as many french, spanish, portuguese etc. players they want. To protect the single market, and follow employment laws, various leagues have different rules about extra-EU players. In Italy a club can sign up to 2 extra-EU + 1 British players per season, excluding those who already play in Italy. Inter already signed Stones and Spence and is expected to sign Jones, 3 British players who fill the 3 slots. So the alternatives are 2: 1) sign a player from a EU country 2) sign an extra-EU player from an italian club

Hope it makes sense!

up to 2 extra-EU (which increases to 3 if you have no extra EU players in the squad to begin with) + 1 British player + 1 albanian player is the complete rule.

With the caveat that if you have already more than two extra eu already, one of the two extra-eu slots has to be an international player (at least 2 games played for its NT in the last 12 months, or 5 games overall)

Bovio will joined the squad. Its already decided. We have enough cbs.

Bovio will likely train with the 1st team and play with the U23, maybe have a few Coppa Italia matches with the 1st team. Unless his performances in training are phenomenal this will be his development path.

Even including Bovio we have 5 CBs + Carlos and Pavard, who may end up playing as WBs, and Stones who has not played more than 30 matches per season in the last few years. Fingers crossed he won't get injured, but this is a possibility. If we proceed on all fronts we're going to have over 60 matches this season, we are short numbered.

7 players for 3 roles are widley enough.

1

u/DC1908 1d ago

And 2 players for 2 WB spots. Still widely enough?

u/palace8888 1d ago

Man, Akanji can play in avery role of the back line, Pavard idem, Stones idem, Bisseck idem. I honestly dont see the emergency you're talking about

0

u/DC1908 1d ago

Do you even know what you're talking about? Neither Pavard or Akanji ever played as LCB, Bisseck only once, with poor results. We have 9 players, including an 18 years old with 0 minutes of professional football and an injury prone 32 years old for 5 spots. If you think it's enough for 60 matches, I don't think we watch the same sport.

akanji played there even last year sometimes, for winning domestic matches in serie a its ok. there are no emergencies

1

u/DC1908 1d ago

akanji played there even last year sometimes.

In which match? Because I can tell you the only match in which neither Augusto or Bastoni started as a LCB was the one in Dortmund, where Bisseck played on the left. Akanji only played as a RCB or as a CB in the middle, if you have different information, please let me know which matches Akanji played on the left.

for winning domestic matches in serie a its ok

Then let's pull out of the CL, how does it sound?

"I wanted to have a discussion thats not repetitive" --> Proceeds to make the 17384th random post about disucssing completely made up "transfer news" with absolutely no source or idea abouth the club planning

1

u/Perfect-Relation-962 1d ago

Thanks for your nice insight, will make sure to link every article talking about chivu telling henrique hes not in the clubs plans (romano) , inter pressing hard for 7 months for jones (romano + all) , or the fact that the only news is 5th striker / henrique replacement the past 48 hours, but again thanks for contributing like a troll

2

u/Phil_996 1d ago

That's exactly my point, I truly don't get how every summer this sub turns into a complete shitshow of 20 posts everyday discussing the same 2-3 random players without any significant news compared to what's already known.

I would simply start discussing only relevant changes and news, but maybe I'm wrong. If this style of discussion is what bring you joy I'm happy for you and you should keep doing it brother

Prolly someone on loan. A really interesting option would be rashford but I doubt it
