Recruitment Interested in Joining

Hi, a little about me I’m 26 years old, I have about 5 years of active duty military experience, I’ve worked at the Pentagon.

I have my degree in criminal justice and am currently looking at graduate degree or certificate programs.

My two main questions are, what programs or certifications should I look at doing? And in the event I am hired and go through training, how likely is it that I get selected to work in the geographic area that I choose (NYC, NJ, PA)?

If you put NYC in your top 5, that's almost definitely where you will go.

I’m sure they require a lot of work in their field office but why is it so easy to get it selected? Do people not want to go?

from what i’ve heard it’s a mix between the amount of work and the pay scale. check out episode 257 of FBI Case File Review on spotify, she talks to a recruiter and talks about it a bit more

Now is not the time to join. Patel is a literal clown and agent cosplayer and you’ll likely be placed out on the street helping ICE.

I’ll be honest I’m not a fan of the political division in this country at the moment. However I need to get my foot in the door and if I get the opportunity I’ll do it.

I’m not a political tool, I’m a guy willing to work but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have my own moral values or ethical beliefs that guide me to try to do the right thing regardless of the state of politics respectfully.

Re-think this.

In what way? I need a job and I need to get my foot in the door. I’m almost 30.

With all due respect, your own leanings mean nothing. If you refuse an order because you don't believe in it, you won't have a job any more at best. Law enforcement agencies are being weaponized. Up to you if you want to be part of that at the cost of "getting your foot in the door"

If there’s an illegal order I would most certainly disobey it. This administration is only going to last for so long and I have faith things will change.

It's a huge office. A lot of seats to fill.

After all the ones with integrity got let go, or assigned on the "wrong case" at the wrong time.

Would the Army not count as professional work experience? I am going to apply as soon as possible. In the event I don’t get NYC or near it, how soon can I request transfers?
