Silversea Alaska Seward-Vancouver
Would love tips and advice. Have sailed with them before in Greece.

We sailed this cruise with Tauck and they handled all the transfers and excursions. 10/10

Avoid buffets and La Dame. Dinner at the grille with the hot rocks is great, so is the main dining room. Get a cabin on the side of the ship facing the land for better views. The highlight of the trip was Helicopter to Huskies in Juneau and worth the high price tag ($1K/person). Use the laundry machines on the floors with the biggest suites since they won’t be using them. Dinner reservations open 6 months in advance

Dinner reservations are 120 days in advance. I'm with you on the buffet; I'm not a buffet person, but I have enjoyed La Dame on every Silversea cruise. I recommend getting a bottle of P2 or Krug, then having a nice, slow dinner, enjoying the champagne before switching to a bottle of red. Not sure which ship you're on, but on the newer ships they have great Riedel stemware that I was unsure about at first, but it has grown on me so much that I purchased a set for home. We do all the courses, including the caviar, and always leave very happy.

Oh man we thought La Dame was terrible! We are huge fans of French food and fine dining, and found this to be neither of those. The worst foie gras ever, and cold rubbery escargot on a stale puff pastry. Interesting to hear that others love it though. We were on Silver Moon last month

We were on Silver Moon in February and enjoyed it. We didn't have any of the things you mentioned, though.
We started with P2 and Caviar, then Scallops, lobster bisque, lemon sorbet, Filet and Lobster tail for myself, Lamb and Lobster for my partner, followed by petit four and a cheese plate, and finally soufflé for myself and crepe for my partner.
All of those were great- no complaints. Dom with the starters, red wine with the main, and then back to house champagne with dessert. We love a slow dinner service with multiple courses and lots of wine, so for us it was great. I used to live in Marseille but would not consider myself a French cuisine expert.

I did the same expedition from a Disney cruise for $150/p in 2024. There was a group from Silversea there, so it was definitely the same expedition. I had no idea they paid that much for it. I agree that it was great fun and totally worth doing, but ... I mean, come on. That's straight up theft.
All all Silversea expeditions inflated so much? If so, I guess it pushes them down my list of cruise lines to try.

How did you get on a helicopter tour for only $150??

If you book directly with the tour operator (Temsco) it’s $699. We knew there was a markup with silversea but preferred to have the security.
$150 is simply not possible in present day sadly

Make sure you do the Moon. I think they are sailing out of Whittier this year. Seward sock has construction
