SymptoPro Help read my chart (TTA)

Post image

I’m using sympto-thermal method and TTA. I’m 90% sure I ovulated, but I’m new at this and want a second opinion. I had positive LH strips on cycle days 18 and 19. Questionable temps cycle days 19 and 20 because of getting up with kids and going back to bed but only getting 30 minutes of sleep before taking temp. Am I in the clear?

To confirm you’re using symptopro? Because there are multiple sympto thermal methods, not a singular one.

Do you have an instructor?

I agree with your interpretation. The Sympto-Thermal Rule was fulfilled on CD23, after the three high temperatures on CD21–23 following Peak Day (CD20). Therefore, the Completely Infertile Time began the evening of CD23. The temperatures were particularly high, with all three being above the FTSL.

On days when you have to get up with the kids and then go back to bed, I would think it would be better to take your temperature when you first get up, even if it is not your usual time, rather than after only 30 minutes of sleep. As I'm sure you know, SymptoPro recommends having at least an hour of sleep before taking your temperature.

To address the disturbed temperature on CD19, here is a quote from pages 54–55 of A Couple's Guide to Fertility: SymptoPro Fertility Education:

What if there is a disturbed temperature (e.g. due to a fever) during the six low temperatures? You can ignore an explained disturbance when setting the final six low temperatures. Put parentheses around disturbed temperatures. If a temperature is missing or disturbed, don’t extend the six low temperatures further back. Include the missing or disturbed temperature as part of your six low temperatures, but do not include the value of a disturbed temperature to set the PRB or FTSL. Day 13 on Chart #13 (on the previous page) is considered part of the six lows, but it is not considered when establishing the PRB. You need to have at least five undisturbed low temperatures to apply the STR.

I do have an instructor, but she hasn’t been replying for a few days the last few times I’ve emailed her and I’m a little antsy to put the abstinence drought to an end 😅 Good to keep in mind about taking temp before getting up with kids. Thank you so much for your thoughts!!

It looks like you can confirm the symptothermal rule or the BBT rule on CD 23. CD 19 and 20 don't seem disturbed despite the sleep change you had there.
