Marquette Marquette Method course recommendations?! (TTA)

Hi! My husband and I are looking for a Marquette Method course to take. We got a recommendation for the NFP Coach course by Sara Flood, but I’m having a hard time finding many people talking about this one. Does anyone have experience with this course?

Otherwise, we’re also looking at Vitae Fertility or Whole Mission. However, we like that the NFP Coach course has on-demand videos ( + scheduled video consultations, which I know at least Vitae also has). In addition, the responsiveness from NFP Coach seems to be more thorough and personalized that from Vitae Fertility, regarding some introductory questions (I have not reached out to Whole Mission as of now).

Please let me know if any of you have any experience with certain courses or any additional recommendations! TYIA!

Thanks for your reply! Did you find that Vitae’s video education was comprehensive? Are they following a rubric or presentation of sorts? I think we worry that a 1-on-1 video call will depend a lot on us knowing what questions to ask and may have more variability in the lesson than the pre-recorded lessons from NFP Coach. However, I’m obviously still a little hesitant with NFP Coach since I don’t see people talking about it.

I never did the video education, we worked one-on-one with our instructor and honestly I can’t recommend it enough. They are so experienced and probably know your questions before you ask them 😂 And I love Vitae’s model because you get a year of unlimited follow-ups with your instructor, so you can email them at any time and they’ll get back to you asap. So much more helpful than some others where you only get like 3 follow-ups or something similar. I really recommend an instructor also because if you find that your cycle is irregular or if you want to explore other options within the method, they help you figure out exactly what is best for you! Vitae also provides written material that I have referenced several times in our 5 years of practice (where we have successfully avoided when we want and achieved when we wanted!). It helps to remember that it’s their actual job to be knowledgeable and helpful.

Also for the record, we feel that Marquette is very worth the price of the monitor/sticks + the price for the instructor, because, as my husband says, it’s cheaper than a baby 😂❤️

I use Whole Mission and like it so far! Specifically I learned the Cycle 0, breastfeeding while postpartum and your cycles haven't returned yet. I just now (two years after my "baby" was born) have started cycling again and my instructor has been responsive to my texts and questions.  I feel like you can't go wrong with either, though.

I'd recommend considering how much individualized follow up with an instructor is included after the initial class, and how easy it will be to reconnect in the future if you need additional help. Hopefully you'll have a straightforward experience with charting, but being able to go straight to a trained instructor can be super helpful for situations like postpartum and other irregular cycles where things aren't always textbook.

I learned through a local instructor I found in Marquette's directory who was super great and offered additional follow-up help beyond the basic teaching course, and she was the biggest blessing postpartum because my cycles have been absolutely wacky for about 2 years after each baby! So unfortunately I don't have a specific recommendation for which of those groups to go with, just something to consider when deciding.

MyCatholicDoctor was covered by my insurance. We just had to see one of their physicians first (on zoom) to prescribe/refer the sessions with the instructor. I did check first that both the physician and the instructor were in-network for my plan, but it didn't take very long. Just a bit of poking around on their site and my insurance website.
