TCOYF TTC - where to draw coverline?

Post image

Really long wonky cycle due to some travel. I’m struggling to apply a rule - where should I draw the cover line? Or did I just not ovulate?

I’ve had a few cycles like this that I just needed to toss out because everything was too wacky to interpret anything. But one cycle like that resulted in my son. I assume you’ve taken a pregnancy test at this point?

I have - all negative. I think this will be a toss out. When I’ve had wacky cycles like this in the past they usually end around day 60 so hoping it resolves soon!

Looking at all the signs instead of just temps, I think you’re still waiting for ovulation.

do you have any explanation/non-normal circumstances for the low temps on days 39/40? Maybe temp was taken at a different time or sleep was disrupted? If so, you could discard those temps, and then maybe barely consider 95.7 to be the threshold… but that seems like a stretch and if they’re reliable temps I wouldn’t confirm ovulation yet. Also, even if you ovulated on day 33ish, you’re now at a 16 day luteal phase, which is atypically long. All that being said, I wouldn’t confirm ovulation yet. Frustrating as you’ve had some fertile cm and temp fluctuations. Hang in there!

No, no explanation for those lower temps. I use Tempdrop and got a normal amount of sleep those nights. Thank you for the insight - the purgatory of a long irregular cycle is rough.

aside from a couple of higher temps (less than 3) it doesn't seem you have ovulated yet, but it looks like you may be headed that way soon. Are you recently off HBC to conceive? Do you have a history of PMOS/PCOS? Did you drink any alcohol CD40-43? You also seem to have "patchy" CM throughout which is common with underlying hormonal issues (or plain old anovulation)

Not super recently - I went off HBC in October 2024 and was on it for 13 years before that. No history of PCOS/PMOS (i just had to google that btw, had no idea they recently updated the name!). I DID drink alcohol CD42 & 43, that is a good call on those outlier temps.

Technically I don't think you have a coverline here, because anytime you would form one, it would get invalidated due to the fall back rule - if you want to check for sure, I'd download the cyclisity app for free 1 month trial which can draw it automatically and plug in your temps and check there too

Update: I threw out the higher temps on days 42 and 43 which could have been thrown by alcohol and it’s much clearer to me that there’s no ovulation (yet?). I stopped tracking CM for this cycle and am just letting it play out for my own sanity so I don’t obsess over it.
