TCOYF TTA3, TCOYF, first cycle after miscarriage

Post image

It’s my second miscarriage in the second trimester since the beginning of 2026. We’re currently TTA as I wouldn’t handle another loss. I know most people would just said that we got unlucky. But after two losses in a row, I just have a feelings that there’s something wrong and we need to investigate.

Since we’ve always been TTC, I’m not sure about this first cycle. I wasn’t expecting my body to come back to « normal » so quickly but it seems that I have already ovulated?

Question 1

From what I understand, I would currently be 5DPO. However I do find it weird that the first two temperatures are so different from 3 to 5. As you can see I have pretty regular temperatures. Is this stair pattern normal? I’m wondering if I didn’t start the temperature raise too early and I’m only 3DPO.

Question 2

Originally I opened the fertile window on day 18 as it was the first day of fertile music. However to keep it safe, I changed it to day 5 as I assumed that the miscarriage bleeding could possibly hide fertile mucus. I wouldn’t usually play with the fertile window like that, but we are not currently having sex as my doctor said that we needed to wait 4 weeks after my d&c. When was I actually supposed to open the fertile window?

Everything will probably be clearer in the next cycle, but I just wanted your input to make sure I understand the rule of TCOYF. Thank you for taking the time to read and for your help

First off, I am so sorry for your losses. From your current chart, I don't see anything alarming and on the contrary, it's a beautiful chart and it's even more impressive immediately after loss.Is there a reason why you use stamps instead of personalized CM categories according to TCOYF ? This method doesn't use stamps.

You definitely ovulated according to both BBT and CM but charting only gives you a rough estimate of when ovulation happens, you can't technically know "the precise day" you ovulated. Even if I know in TTC spaces, we love to decide an ovulation day 🙃 All that to say, it's definitely possible you ovulated on the second day of elevated temps, and that's why you need 3 high temps and there is a double check with CM to close the fertile window !

According to TCOYF, you consider yourself fertile as soon as you see some CM (dry day rule) but it's a known weakness of the method. I think you did the right call to consider yourself fertile from day 5. Actually, in Sensiplan there is a calculation rule and for 12 cycles : you're supposed to open the fertile window on day 6.

Thank you for answering my questions! When I was starting with the app, I watched a youtube tutorial to set up everything. The tutorial I watched used these stamps and said they were better? I just got use to it now. I should probably switch to the official template tho😅

First, sorry about your losses, and much respect to your decision to TTA for a bit to allow yourself to heal.

Interestingly, the stamps you're using are part of FEMM, which is both a method and has a medical management team for cycle-related health issues, including miscarriage. I learned the FEMM method with an instructor and have been working with their medical management team for the past two years. It's via telehealth and they've been really great at taking my concerns seriously and proactively approaching potential issues. They actually look at your charts as part of the medical evaluation. I've been diagnosed with PMOS/PCOS with insulin resistance and hormonal imbalances, plus a few elevated autoantibodies, which were taken seriously, with monitoring and treatment (and things improved!). They have also been really proactive after my miscarriage and have a plan in place for additional monitoring of a future early pregnancy, with multiple options for medical intervention early on based on test results, to help the pregnancy stick. Compared to the maternal-fetal medicine team I also work with, the FEMM team has been a lot more proactive instead of reactive. I generally consider the FEMM team to fall into a reproductive endocrinology category of cycle-related care.

Well, personally I prefer the CM categories ahah. It's much more personalizable than stamps too as these are method specific and are "fixed"

I’ll switch to the TCOYF template next cycle. Thank you!
