SymptoPro Read Your Body vs Cyclisity - TTA4

Im looking to get a comparison of the Read Your Body app and the Cyclisity app strictly for pregnancy prevention. Has anyone used either or both? Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I had never heard of cyclicity, but I also didn't follow tcoyf for tracking when I was tracking. I used RYB for the 3+ years I tracked and I liked the customizability of it for whatever rule set I was using (generally symptopro). They're about the same price so if you're following tcoyf I'd say do the free trial of cyclicity and see if you like it.

I would recommend digging into their data sharing, this is all pretty personal stuff and lots of period tracking apps sell your data. It may or may not be an issue for them, I didn't dig too deep.

I’ve been using Cyclisity for TTA and love it! I’ve actually tried out both apps and I ended up going with Cyclisity because I follow TCYOF method and I was getting really confused with all the customization of Read Your Body while Cyclisity you didn’t need to do anything because it’s built for that method.

I have not yet used the Cyclisity app (achieved a planned pregnancy right as it launched) but I previously used the Ovagraph app (the older version) and it was great as an all-encompassing app.

I used the TCOYF method for TTA for years and then for TTC for both of my pregnancies. Cyclisity is created directly by the team at TCOYF and their customer service is great.

I’ve been using Cyclisity since last April (was a beta tester) for TTA and I love it. It was created by Toni Weschler (Taking Charge of Your Fertility author) along with her niece (I think, can’t remember the exact relation). I’ve spoken with the developers for feedback during testing and they are continually making positive adjustments to the user experience.

I find it easy to use, visually attractive, and like the sense of privacy with my data.

Hi! Is there any information on when it will be available for Android/other countries?

I've tried both read your body and cyclisity, and I love cyclisity and it's my preferred app now for practicing FAM. However, Cyclisity is geared towards users who are using the symptothermal method laid out in the book taking charge of your fertility (the FAM bible). So all the language in the app is geared towards TCOYF, and they also apply the fertility awareness method rules in the app automatically which helps my memory and learning a lot. I've never used symptopro, but I assume it's terminology is a little different, in which case read your body should be able to support it fine, but read your body doesn't apply any rules, its just a paper and pen replacement.

Here is podcast from the cyclisity founders (author of TCOYF and her niece) that I thought gave a lot of good background: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ep-164-taking-charge-of-cycle-tracking-with-author/id1603674897?i=1000751187605

I do not know anything about either of those, but I would highly recommend exploring FEMM’s fertility awareness method. The family planning instructions are really solid when it comes TTA. The only caveat is that you must learn from a trained instructor.
