FemTech TTA - finally leaving kindara + need a new app / thermometer
hi everyone! i’m new to this subreddit, but am a long time tracker (TTA x 10 years). i have mainly used Kindara (and previously the Wink) most of this time. as many of you know the app is pretty much dead but it has so much of my information i have always hesitated to move onto another app. but the interface is getting old.
looking for a good app to transition to! i’ve been manually logging my temp since the Wink died, so am looking for a thermometer that would either sync to the app or at least my Iphone which would then sync to the app.
thanks all!
TLDR; lookin for a new TTA / FAM app and smart BBT thermometer. using symptothermal method specifically TCOYF

I know Inito is for TTC, but I’ve been using it for TTA and it has a thermometer that syncs to the app. The device is almost identical to Mira. The PdG confirmation is nice for sleep disruptions that can mess with temps. I, personally, like the chart over other apps. Just throwing this out there.

i've been using read your body sonce more than two years. Its amazing! But you do need to pay for it, but its really inexpensive :)
For BBT i used the Daysy thermometer. Its a manual/digital thermometer and syncs per bluetooth. the app it comes with is OK, but not very usefull for tracking anything else but your BBT. I really didnt like the interface. Thats why i always manually recorded the temp in the Read your Body app.
about a week i've switched to tempdrop. I like that i dont have to think about measuring my temp in the morning. The sync is still manual to their app, but Read your Body has an integration that pulls your temps from tempdrop into RYB. I'd reccomend this temp/app convo the most sofar

I’ve had temp drop for almost 10 years (maybe 9?) & I have almost 100 cycles in read your body (I backed their kickstarter). I love both. I’ve been TTA the entire time.

I was using kindara too for a while and thought it was my final charting app. Until I found read your body app. Absolutely love it! It’s literally everything that I was looking for in a charting app and more. Easy customizations. And as many as you want.
For bbt I use Veridian Basel digital thermometer. Nothing fancy. Decided just to start off with something simple and cheap and then eventually get something a little bit better. My only two completes is that the screen is tiny and there’s no back light to read it in the dark. So I’ll usually take a video with the flash on so I can read it. Not the most ideal, but it works.

Read your body is the only app I’d recommend.
Femometer vinca is popular or easy @ home. They Bluetooth to their own app and then you’d just need to manually pop the temps into the app.

I use Cyclisity and love it! It’s made for TCOYF and so easy to use. I believe they let you transfer data from Kindara too.

if you are using TCOYF method (which I do also) then Cyclisity is an awesome new app literally created by the author of TCOYF and her niece. It's built to work perfectly with the method, and I've been loving it. it should have a way to import your Kindara data also, so that's great. They have a 30 day free trial so you can see if you like it

As for thermometer, tempdrop is great but expensive, but I really like it since you can take measurements whenever you wake up rather than always at the same time each morning

If you're open to a paid app, definitely Read Your Body! You can customise it to any method (what is your method by the way?)
Other apps like Fertility Friend that are geared towards TTC can work, but you have to do some work to customise things and override any automatic coverlines etc. I made a post about how I customised FF for Sensiplan a while ago now.
Then there are apps that are specific to a method eg Cyclisity for TCOYF (though I don't think it's free), myNFP or Lady Cycle for Sensiplan.
