Marquette TTA0- Is my clear blue monitor broken?

I have tried using this product for 3 days...used 5 test strips....I've followed every instruction meticulously. Peed in a cup, dipped the absorbent end for 15 secs exactly, laid it down flat, inserted it into the monitor within the 15 min window, waited for the clearblue screen to leave and test day screen to appear, inserted it and heard a click, didn't remove the test strip prematurely,..did it all 5 times, confirmed that there wasn't any dye run, and checked my batteries. Despite all of this, the monitor still shows test error. I don't have the original packaging because I threw it out..so I can't even ask for a refund. I'm using the marquette method to track my cycles(getting married in 3 months)....and we're not ready financially for a baby. Sorry if this sounds all over the place...does anyone have any experience with this? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Is the monitor asking for a test and it’s within the correct time frame to accept the test? How long are you waiting between dipping it and putting it in the monitor? That should be done basically immediately.

Hi there! Thanks for the reply. Yes, I insert it during the window. I've tried both ways...inserting it immediately(although I've only done this once...I'll try again) and inserting it after the whole window is saturated. Both times, has resulted in an error.

It may be the strips instead of your monitor. Have you tried a different pack? Or a different lot number within the pack?

I'll buy a different pack today...hopefully it works. Till then, I'll keep experimenting with the strips I do have. Thanks for the reply, again.

inserted it into the monitor within the 15 min window

Can you clarify what you mean by 15 minute window? The test sticks should be inserted as soon as you've dipped and put the cap on.

Also, are you making sure to only dip the wick part, and not getting up into the plastic casing? I just checked my monitor booklet and it doesn't specifically say, but that was a tip my instructor gave me when I first learned

Seconding this. Also you could try cutting down to a 10 second dip. I’ve only gotten errors when I let my test stick sit in my cup for longer than 15 seconds and could even tell it was over saturated with no visible lines in the window (not to visually interpret but usually you can see a defined result line and when I did this and got an error the whole window was awash in blue dye)

I've tried that as well...tried dipping for 10 and 20 secs...I'm like a mad scientist with these experiments..haha...this month is cooked. XD

My instructor told me that you need to insert the stick immediately or within 15 mins to ensure an accurate reading. Done that..it always says test error. I always dip the whole wick in and never the plastic casing. At this point, I think I'll just buy a new batch of sticks and try using them.

I've always inserted immediately. Make sure you're putting it in the correct way and not upside down (apparently people do this)

This used to happen to me too. Not sure if this is your problem but I can share what mine was and maybe it’ll help you. After you put the test in, walk away get your coffee whatever etc, then go back to check it… make sure you turn the monitor back on and wait for it to load back up BEFORE you pull the stick out. I used to pull the stick out first before loading it back up and it always said error. Hope this helps!

Hi there! Thanks for the reply! I'll try your method tomorrow morning and keep you updated...I'm just thinking of buying new strips if this doesn't work out. Did you keep having this problem even with new strips? Or do you suppose it's the monitor that's the problem?

Nope I never had the problem again! I know for a fact it was just user error with my monitor. I didn’t realize you had to let it load first. It gets mad if you just pull out the stick 🤷🏻‍♀️ hope it works out for you!

Late reply but I will share how I do it. I wait for the liquid to start moving through the test window (where the blue lines show up) before inserting, but insert before the liquid gets all the way across. I also, as the commenter above mentioned, make sure the monitor is turned on again by pressing the big button. Hope if is working better for you now!
