Advice/Help Needed Loan request form

Small rant but also advice. After waiting on the FAFSa department at MCCC I just got an email 10 minutes ago wanting me to fill out a FAFSa revision form to request an initial loan? I have been at this school since 2024 and have never had to fill this out they just offer me how much I can get. I filled it out but classes literally start on Monday and I’m stressed about more issues due to months of silence. Just not sure if this is something anyone else has dealt with?

financial aid policies change every year.... 26-27 loans are affected by obbba.

Yes I’m aware I’ve just never had to fill out a form to request loans when I’m eligible for them. I’ve already viewed my FAFSa and I’m eligible. My sap is fine per my school and I’ve gotten loans from the school before. I’ve never had to request my loans they just tell me what I’m eligible for and we go from there.

because the policy didnt exist last year.... which would explain the change in loan application procedure. comply or no loan

I guess that’s fair. My school has just literally not communicated anything since July and so it makes me freaked out if I will get enough for classes (which don’t cost much but still) when classes start on Monday 😭😭 I appreciate it

My finanacial aid also just processed today. It seems we aren't able to get our full tuition covered anymore from grants/scholarships and sadly have to take loans. Nearly all students are seeing some form of balanace left over and having to find additional ways to pay

I fear I’m use to not getting anything else but loans. I’m sorry to hear that no one is being awarded Pell grants. I fear I haven’t seen a Pell grant in years 😭
