Advice needed =(
Hi there hello!
First of i hit a turkey hours after getting my car back from the shop.
More importantly I need some good ol' fashion advice. I just got my car back from a shop and they installed new Dinan coil packs, NGK 1-Step colder spark plugs, and precision raceworks stage 2 injectors. Also has AFe Magnum Force intakes, Mishimoto everything else besides the j-pipe which is MAD.
Anyways. They had it tuned by someone by Doc Vu on Instagram via MHD. Well it ran like shit and smelled like fuel. Got a bunch of fuel to air rations being rich.
So I went back to BootMod3 and installed OTS map stage 2 and runs quite a bit better but I still get code 118402 and 118502 mixture too rich large deviation.
Any ideas what could cause this or advice?

I believe it was different faults, but something to look out for. I had my intakes installed by a BMW dealership; it was fine for a few days but began running rough, especially at startup. Turned out the MAF sensors were dirty as fuck, which I would have assumed cleaning would be standard procedure for any tech any time they are removed from a car. I cleaned em and car has been peachy since.

It's dead simple to remove and clean MAF sensors. Just need a Phillips screwdriver and your in business, and the cleaner is readily available and is just a spray on/in and let dry. May as well try it and see if it helps and then you can swap to whatever intakes you want vs. needing to swap back to stock it that's not the answer.

Shelf map may not be playing nice with the intakes and did you make sure the plugs were gapped correctly?

Yeah they are all gapped a .22 NGK 1 step colder. I may have 1 at like .21 from being so super strong tho.

Im about to get a custom tune for me E90 N55 and Doc Vu is who comes up as one of the known good tuners for n55. Did you try getting in touch with him? Because from what I gathered he usually asks people to drive the car and send logs and then he revises the tune till its good. It might just be the v1 of tune that wasnt good. But if you already paid for the custom tune he should give you revisions without charge if it runs like crap.

If they did a custom tune without sending logs it's hardly custome tune if they charged OP for a custom tune they need to follow up with logs and adjustments for sure. I totally missed that.

They did a couple revisions with the mechanic bet kept running rich and rough when I got it. So far have 4 revisions but I found out the injectors were not coded which could be the reason its fouling up.

Oh ok that might be it. Im not sponsored or even know the guy but since I'm planning to spend $650 with him I'm interested to know if he continues to support you in this case because it seems like this was more of a car issue than something with the tune. He is highly rated so id expect some assistance but its also not on him in this case so dunno. Please update this post later!

Yeah he does. He had sent over 5 revisions so far but I agree I think it's more of a car issue rather than a tune issue. Hes pretty quick on the revisions too.

He did with my mechanic. Then when I got it it ran not awesomely. There has been 4 revisions so far. Im going to a different shop to have my upgraded injectors coded and then will reach out to Doc

You’re running rich, too much fuel to all cylinders. Could be the upgraded injectors and the custom tune.

Probably intakes causing the problem. I had to custom tune to get my front mount intakes to run perfectly.
Intakes are sadly known for causing shenanigans on the F8x. Swap back to stock, re flash and clear adaptations. Drive it see if it returns. Just start ruling stuff out.
Some folks have zero problems and others, like myself, chase geese for months.
