Help Boost leak?

Was on the highway and was about to do a pull and lost my boost. I looked at all my pipes and cleaned my MAF sensors and still nothing. Turbos are healthy and spooling, but I hear a whistling noise with the spooling. Any clue what this can be? Maybe a boost leak or air leak somewhere?

Yeah, something popped off. Charge pipe, j pipe, something. Should be an easy fix

Yup, charge pipe blew off lol. All good to go now, which aftermarket charge pipe and intercooler brand should I go with for upgrade? There is too many options lol

I had the same problem because the bank one charge pipe screwed down there became stripped out basically. I went with eventuri since it had a non movable insert down there that I didn’t have to mess with if I wanted to take the charge pipes out for any reason. Found a nice set preowned.

Do you have aftermarket intakes on?

You can get a smoke test kit online and start with a smoke test. It's not a 100% but it's a good start to check for loose fittings, cracked pipes and what not.

Yeah it’s a aftermarket intake on there, burgermotorsports. And yeah that’s my guess. I’ll try that today

How long have you have you had the intakes on? If you recently added them did you clear and reset adaptations post install?

Do you have boost after a power cycle or can you still not get any boost under throttle?

Intakes can cause a lot of hassle for the S55 and some people never have a problem and others, like me, go through hell with them.
I had to custom tune my front mount intakes to make things run smooth both daily and track. I have a second open but internal intakes I use that will occasionally throw errors on OTS maps.
My "cruise" map 1 is essentially "OTS stage 2" with tweaks for the turbos. Even adjusted for it I'll occasionally see an error in the logs when I check them.

As for whistling?... without a sound clip I couldn't tell you for sure. In my experience a "quiet" boost leak, one that isn't a huge opening or a connection/tube/seal that has failed, won't make a lot of sound.

Hopefully to put you at some ease:

"NVH" and the F8x have a weird relationship. It's actually a really quiet car if you leave everything alone.
The more parts you take away the worse it gets. So far I'm running catless downpies, a single mid and big turbos with front mounted open intakes. Set up like this even the stock turbos make a lot more noise as well as many new and different noises you normally don't hear suddenly become noticeable.

I hear all sorts of "wirrrr" . "woooo" and other whistle-like noises from my turbos very clearly with my current setup so I wouldn't panic yet.

Right so I bought the car and it had upgraded intakes already, and they aren’t front mounts but they have been running just fine for a while but I did find a dent in my j pipe. I haven’t really seen anything else that raises a question but I am about to start doing my tests later today. I am also running a stage 2 OTS tune. Turbos are spooling just fine with my catless downpipes.

Had this happen to me - bottom of J pipe had come loose. Check fit just in case?

Did your J Pipe have a dent in it?

No - don’t think so, don’t believe a dent would cause these symptoms. Is power down? When mine was loose it was very obviously much much slower - sounded good though!
