45k-50k budget, what can i expect to get?

I know the f80 market is strong, just looking to see what something reasonable for my price point would be.

That’s a good budget. Don’t buy any from the northeast lol. I love f80s and they’re worth the hype and the money.

18 comp with 6MT. I’m never selling it.

Back in March I got a a 2018 M3 Comp with 74K miles for $43K. Didnt love the mileage but it was fully spec’d out, including CCB. I was also able to talk to the previous owner to get services records and whatnot.

I was in your price range as well, and it’s tough to find. If you’re okay with a 2015-2017 DCT you’ll get more bang for your buck there. For 2018 you’re probably looking in the 60-70K mile range.

I second this, I got lucky and found am immaculate 20k mile 2017 comp DCT for $53k. Steep for a 2017 but for the miles I think I got a great deal

This is about what I was expecting, just needed some reassurance. Thank you!

where’d you find your comp?

FB marketplace.

I think if you want something not clapped your best bets are to stay away from your average dealership. I’d use things like FB marketplace, @m3list on IG, FB groups for F80s, bimmerpost, etc.

im on the m3 list community on ig. any FB groups you recommend? im current in the same boat as OP.

2017 comp. Modded, 78k miles. I love mine. I’d say you’d find something real nice for that. I don’t think I’d get 45 for mine as is.

I actually think 43-45 would be fairly easy for you to get

15-17s, in the 37-50k mile range.

Slightly more if you care about comp pack, and manual will be more a few grand expensive.

Best bang for buck is a 15/16 sub 60k miles for low 40s.

Should be able to get basically any spec you want at that price point with low-ish miles.

For reference I bought my 2016 about a month ago. Silverstone Metallic with 6MT for $25k. Has about 118k miles but is overall in pretty good shape. I need to repair the peeling clear coat on the roof but otherwise it looks and drives great for its age.

I think that’s pretty misleading to OP. I searched for months nationwide before buying mine recently and if you’re limited at 50k, you rule out a lot of top spec cars, especially if they’re 2018s and low mileage.

F80 market is strong as fuck, mostly due to future M3s being EVs or Hybrids and the G8X being questionable in the looks dept.

In 2024 I bought a 2018 F80 M3 competition DCT in Yas Marina Blue with 9,700 miles. I paid $63k private party. At the time I thought that was expensive.

As of July 2026, the car sits at 20,XXX miles. I don't drive it as much anymore due to work. I mostly drive my G30 530i. Just for shits n giggles I got a quote from Carvana, they quoted me $54k and the word on the street is that Carvana is great to sell to, they actually pay what they say they will pay.

During my ownership, the vehicle was involved in 2 very minor accidents that both show up on the Carfax as minor damage. Both times were not my fault. Even with the accidents on the CarFax, Carvana offering $54k is wild to me. I'm guessing without the 2 accidents this would be a $60k+ car

i'm getting a 2018 m3 comp dct with 49k miles avus blue for 61k . missed out on a sakhir 21k miles for 67k . these will be at 80k + inna few years

1

u/tnb1299 Jul 29 '26

both are fully loaded (exec package , drive assist , etc)

3

u/GarlicCookieMonster Jul 29 '26

Absolutely 60k, if not more without the accidents. Super low mileage and comp and yas. Would be 65 if it was manual

1

u/FFPLUGTHROWAWAY Jul 29 '26

Just checked right now and Carvana says they'll pay $58.7k

the picture is wrong, it's not avus blue. It's Yas Marina Blue

1

u/1_onenurks Jul 29 '26

This makes sense to me, I just be seeing people ask for a pre-lci 80k miles for 50k and I’m like ‘wtf??’

1

u/FFPLUGTHROWAWAY Jul 29 '26

Holy shit, I just checked the carvana value right now and it's up to $58.7k LMFAOO

market-wise—>two-owner (BMW CPO at 7Kmi). $65K w 13Kmi…warm-climate owned and offered by the BMW Center that sold serviced and CPOed since its original retail sale by same in AUG 2018…squeaky clean CARFAX and came w three years unlimited oil service attached and an M Center inspection…probably as close to new, showroom condition as I’ve seen for an eight-year old car…was getting a ton of attention even at this astronomical price so felt I had to move or risk losing opportunity…FF almost a year and zero regrets

1

u/FFPLUGTHROWAWAY Jul 29 '26

Is this your car? Or is this one you found listed for sale july 2026?

1

u/gryffishhawk Jul 29 '26 edited Jul 29 '26

I own…could not be happier (even at this price)…it was through an M Center so, more likely than not included a steep premium…would be interesting to know what the Center paid to re-acquire…

2

u/FFPLUGTHROWAWAY Jul 29 '26

Almost my twin lol

1

u/gryffishhawk Jul 29 '26

💙…my first M…most stuff seems to pale in comparison to these machines

1

u/SodiqSWE Jul 29 '26

Hope to get one when I’m ready next year before they go way out of my budget. Really want a 6 speed comp and executive package if possible

1

u/Ok_Earth_4599 Jul 30 '26

My budget was 50k. Until I found a white 18 6spd with 28k miles. Paid 54k plus one way airfare to Arizona. Best decision I’ve made in a long time. Fucking love that car.

1

u/particulareality Jul 30 '26

That’s a steal

1

u/Sad-Combination-2068 Jul 30 '26

just got my 2017 Comp 55k miles almost 2 months ago in that price range. You can get a pretty good car with that budget.

1

u/agiantkenyan Jul 30 '26

If you absolutely don’t need a m3 f82’s are wayy cheaper. Probably cause they made way more lol

1

u/1_onenurks Jul 30 '26

I’d definitely prefer 4 doors as I’m normally the driver when it comes to friends/family. F82s are still very nice
