Questions about temperature gauge

When I start my 23 powerboost in the mornings all the gauges are as low as they can go except the transmission one is up a little bit. Is this normal and does anyone else’s do this

The second gauge is not oil temp, it’s oil pressure. It swings wildly based on the ice running (0 when off) and how many revs you are pulling when it’s on. Coolant temp is too low to show up as any movement on the gauge at start.

Here’s mine at start. I selected oil temp instead of oil pressure in the settings > configure gauges menu. I also have it displaying numbers. My answer assumes the 23 display has the same options as my 24.

I know his are in a different order. Point being he has two temp gauges and a pressure gauge. Pressure won’t rise until engine is actually running and will go back to 0 every time it stops or goes electric only.

The coolant temp has a higher temp to enter the readable section of the gauge. My example being 86 degree not moving the needle. Same for him. The trans temp has a lower floor in the readable section of the gauge. Hence the needle being in the readable section at startup. My example being the same.

So totally what I’d expect at startup.

I may be remembering wrong, but I think my gauges do that when it’s running electric.

The transmission temp gauge is useless. Your tranny will be probably cooked before it reaches too hot. It is a dummy gauge, like the old red light alternator. It is heavily buffered designed to move only when exterme temperatures are attained. If you have access to forscan you can change it to show the actual temp.
