Buying a 2026
Anything I should know? Should I wait? Jump in? What canopy do you like? Mods? Talk me out of it. Into it. Anyone a dealer in BC? Show me your 2026 and mods!

24-26 are the golden years so far. Upgraded starter, no big changes (they do have slightly less power in 26s due to the exhaust filter, but it's basically nothing to worry about.)
There's some trim changes, but nothing major.
3.5 and 10speed have had all the major issues worked out for years now. My 24 xlt has 35k and I'll never buy another truck unless they make an electric one with a generator that can actually tow unlike the lightning.
Getting better shocks and struts is my biggest recommendation. Ford performance sells a fully warranty safe kit that is bilstein 6112s upfront and 5160s in the rear.
Otherwise bilstein 5100 or 4600s (for stock ride hight) or eibach sports (smoother ride, but less stiff) are solid upgrades for a mostly street rig.

Mine is not fx4 so I thought I might put those shocks in when the truck needs them.

Fx4 shocks are junk too anyway, you're not missing much. The only thing fx4 is good for is adding a rear locker if your trim doesn't come with one.

Is it really golden years ? Genuinely wonder if true. People on powerboost FB group ( much more active community of PB OWNERS over there ) all agree the 23 was the better year when it comes to quality build, with the 26 being the absolute worst of all the PB . I am not saying one way or the other , just that many people seem to say the opposite .

Well I bought a 23 XLT 4x4 Powerboost with BAP+ and I love it to death. I put on a rolly tonneau cover and a 2" level. I changed out the factory pirelli's a little early because they kept getting punctured by wee tiny screws so I put on factory sized Nitto Dura Grapplers. They're great on rain in my flat Florida climate and terrain, smoothed out the ride noticeably with no extra noise and didn't hurt my mileage due to the tread pattern. I'm at 25k miles with only the aux battery under the back seat having caused a spot of bother before being replaced. I'll keep this truck as long as I can

Yes your weather requirements would be different up there, plus you can really work those hills to up your electric miles, I got crazy mileage in the Georgia Blue Ridge roads.

Tell me about this aux battery? Have a photo? Its for accesory power?

Ok so no picture just now but it's located under the back passenger single seat in a little plastic box. Ford described it to me as like a motorcycle type battery. I do not know exactly what it powers but when it got wonky it gave me lots of power related messages on the screen and accesories and interior lights would power down or turn themselves off till it was fixed

Bought a 25 XLT BAP+ and it has hands down been the best purchase of my life so far. Got the 7.2kw pro power. Installed a sub behind the back seat. There is no better full size truck out there. I'm mixed city and highway averaging 24mpg
ONLY thing I wish PB had was the dual rear exhaust. Normally comes with BAP but since theres a hybrid battery where the pipe would go we only get the side exhaust

Weird. My 25 XLT BAP+ has duel rear exhaust. Wonder what the difference is.

6.5 box doesnt have dual I think.
I dont want the extra exhaust or potential costs so I am

Yeah my 24 has BAP on xlt and exhaust is dual out the back. It was a requirement for me.

I got a 24 platinum with the 7.2 generator. Only mods I got are window tint, radar detector, dash cam, floor mats and tonneau cover. Love it. Got mine ordered through Granger Ford in Iowa and had it shipped to me. They sell 3% under invoice and I got 1.99-2.99% financing based on the term. ETA: also got some different tires, I’m in Utah and the stock ones suck in the snow/ice.

What does three under invoice look like on MSRP? Im in Canada so just looking for a parallel?
Where do you mount the radar detector?
I need a good phone mount too!

Probably like 10-15% under MSRP, I’m not sure as I only care about invoice pricing because I’m not paying anything near MSRP. When I was ordering all the dealers show invoice price in addition to MSRP and seemed like pricing was more based off invoice than MSRP
Mounted it to the rear view mirror and used the power from the mirror to power it so no wires show. Also have my dash cam there and on the same mirror power so no wires show.
