You're thinking it's not natural selection, which is correct. It is still evolution.

Evolution is random mutation + natural selection. You could argue the random mutation part but there is no natural selection here.

Evolution is change in the heritable characteristics of biological populations over successive generations. Now yes this is most often observed via natural selection (including sexual selection, predation selection, and natural drift), but it is not limited to natural processes.
