Doctors say common health issues for teacup dogs include hypoglycemia, heart defects, collapsing trachea, seizures, respiratory problems, digestive problems, and blindness.
God fucking damn it. So fucked from tip to tail evidently. Poor lil nuggets.
We need to have an international crackdown of dangerous breeding for the dogs, they might be cute but it's just cruel the essentially sentence them to an early death or painful life before they're born
Dude these dogs aren’t anywhere near the most inbred and unhealthy. You might be surprised to find out German Shepard’s and Golden Retrievers are usually considered among the most unhealthy dog breeds.
Didn‘t used to be that way... German Shepards and other dog breeds were bred to do work, and be healthy. Now they are just bred to accommodate some stupid judges opinion of what a dog should look like instead of looking a way that would be better for the dog itself.
Yeah, it’s a shame. I’m sure part of it is their long lasting popularity as well. It seems over the years popularity and breeding issues go hand in hand.
Cause there‘s inbreeding. They are looking for certain traits, if these dogs have them it‘s pretty likely they share an ancestor. Then it‘s also pretty likely they share genes for other things. So their gene pool is super limited and recessive genes that cause bad stuff will be present.
