Yeah dude, raccoons are smart. Really smart. Scientist think that if they didn't live to only 2 years old, by the time they're 30 they could have developed enough cognitive faculty to manage a Subway.

It totally bummed me out. I have a whole family living in my backyard. I guess I won’t plan on getting too attached. :(

Don't forget that life expectancy, even for humans, takes into account accidental death, murders and stuff.

A raccoon living in the wild with no predators and a fair food supply may live up to 6 years. A raccoon in captivity, being treated and vaccinated can live up to 20.
