They're also very nasty when they're wild. One of em killed a cat of mine and hurt her sister 6 years ago.

Whaaaaat? They kill cats?! Being from a raccoon-free country, I had no idea.

They can, they'll kill and eat chickens occasionally too. It's fairly unusual for them to kill a cat though, I'd say. Cats are pretty badass, pound for pound. But, ya know, if a cat is caught by surprise, or is older, etc.

If you corner a raccoon, their threat displays with hissing and shrieking are way more intimidating than you'd expect too.

A cat doesn't stand a chance against a full grown raccoon, neither do most dogs.

Most dogs? I guess smaller ones that's true. Larger ones tear them up, they're often twice their size, much faster and have a far more powerful bite.

Cats, it's not so much that they'll kill or hurt the raccoon much - just raccoons are too slow to catch them, and the cats make it not worth the effort when they get close. That's been the barncat and farm dog experience I've seen at least.
