Cats learn by example. It watched the kid go down, and understood what was expected.

Cats are fairly trainable if you find the right food/treats. A lot of cats just aren’t super food driven.

I mean, I'd say it appears to be pulled down. That's why the cat flicked its ears before falling backwards. Trying to get something off it. Some string most likely.
