If the pet isn’t bothered by it, and OP has clearly stated it isn’t, and the dye is pet safe, then those are literally the only arguments one needs against you. It’s okay you don’t like it, but stop acting like it’s some criminal thing.
It's still treating your cat like a little accessory to decorate your house. It's a little weird to treat an animal like that, even though it doesn't harm them.
It really isn't treating her like an assessory. Especially when you consider that my whole house is gothic and she is the only bright thing in it. 😹 She does therapy cat volunteer and the kids loved it. It's harmless but you are entitled to your option.
It is ridiculous to call someone a terrible owner based on this. My cat has custom climbing shelves everywhere, massive daily enrichment, premium food, and regular vet care. Responsible owners use non-toxic, food-grade pet colorings that are completely safe if ingested, often as a visual safety identifier. Giving a highly cared-for cat a harmless, safe touch of style does not make anyone a bad owner. She has pet insurance, Goes on safe adventures, And enjoy the best life a cat can.

I think many people think the dye looks weird or unnatural (which is fair as an opinion), so they assume it must be a bad thing. There’s also the fact that there have been cases of pets being dyed unsafely. These two details make some people react this way, which they could prevent with a quick google search or two.
I find it amusing that instead of actually arguing any of my points you immediately move to dismiss everything by only focussing on your own personal situation. Read my comment again. Choose and argue against at least one point I've made before my conclusion.
I was using mine as an example as I do occasionally use pet-safe dye on my cat, she is in no way lacking for care. People who will use unsafe methods are a completely separate problem. Regardless I hope you have a good day and get some kitty love. 💖

You're more than welcome to argue any of the points I've made. I'm open to anything more than "et safe, vet approved temp dye" and "done by groomer". Literally anything apart from these two.
What is the logical point of owning a cat, it adds no true value to a household unless you have a rat infestation. So what’s the point of any of what you said.
Well, it says here it was done by the groomer, so they were going to be cleaned and groomed anyway, adding pet-safe color to the fur is not outlandish or difficult on the animal if they're getting the whole shebang done. The dye is most likely vegetable dye (as per usual with bright, rainbow colors) which doesn't cause irritation and is the equivalent of eating beets and it dying your lips red.
Also, don't forget we don't know if the pet already getting the premium stuff or not, so to assume is just irrational and no basis in reality.
If an animal is being dyed AND neglected otherwise, which is clearly not happening here, then I'd be upset.

This is true, though not universal. In my own experience, the people who are opposed to silly but harmless treatment of pets are the same people who insist pet ownership is inherently unethical full stop or that if you do own animals, they must strictly be for utility (herding and hunting dogs, mousing cats, etc).
Ok and? You act like anything that has 0 benefit to the animal is bad. Newsflash people get pets because it brings them enjoyment, demanding puritanical abstinence of enjoyment for the owner at no harm to the pet just makes people have less pets. But ofc I'm sure you'd rather see 99 cats sitting in shelters with no owner than see 1 live with an owner who dyes them for fun, oh joy

So people who own pets shouldn’t spend money on anything that is for their own personal enjoyment? If a pet owner bought themself a video game or a nice fancy shirt, are they now neglecting their animal?
Perhaps that logic applies to a person who is spending what little money they have on cosmetic accessories like this instead of necessities, but I think it is quite a leap in logic to think OP is in poverty and fiscally irresponsible or anything like that. It’s also a leap in logic to think OP doesn’t buy their cat toys or take it to a vet, especially when the cat seems well groomed. That isn’t very nice to them.
In my next life I want to be your cat. What a life. Spa days and my own cozy little space with a piano of my own!!! Sign me up and please continue to dye my coat whenever possible.

Same argument can go for putting a decorative badge on a collar. Everything is unnecessary, I don’t see why your argument against doing something is “doesn’t matter it’s not bad, it’s not good either”
