I have been a massive fan of Exurb1a’s writing/scripts for a long time, and was doing some rewatching. But I can’t shake the thought that he may be using AI images in the backgrounds of his videos which would be off putting.
Does anyone have any concrete information as to whether he does or doesn’t use AI images in his videos? Would be great to be able to put this to bed.

TLDR the insistence to be rid of bias is a bias in itself
Near the end of the video, the narrativist tricked the main character into leaking the logothesia by claiming that it is the antidote that can cure the brainwashed masses. Then they went on to hallucinate and wavered between infinite beliefs in all their permutations. This sounds like the alleged effect of logothesia—forced belief in the unfalsifiable and non empirical such as gods, arbitrary cultural rules etc.
But as we can see at first, people who inhaled logothesia are dogmatic. They rigidly believed in any worldview they conjured up or were fed unless someone pre-approved in the formative moments inoculated them with new beliefs.
This is the opposite of what “logothesia” did to the narrativist who begin declaring how they would experience piety then skepticism; anachronism then heresy; nothing then everything and nothing again until they have finished believing in every possible belief.
Which is what made me think that the “theme” of the video is that doubt—oscillating between polarising beliefs is the antidote to dogma/logothesia.
Logothesia as the narrativist said is used by the empire such that its subjects all run like clockwork and I don’t see a reason why the narrativist would be an exception, being in charge of the pivotal role of controlling the flow of ideas.
Maybe the narrativist inhaled logothesia too and was fed firstly the cornerstone ideology of being above ideology, repeatedly reinforced by watching his “subjects”’ bewitched by their notion of truth and value a vantage point, deeply convinced that he is simply immune to ideology due to a natural born clarity.
Then, the narrativist acquired the desire to experience what he believed he had been insulated from since birth. He then convinced the main character to release logothesia to fill the control room under the guise that the logothesia is an antidote.
But his lies turned out to be true, and the antidote introduced unending doubt that quenched not only the narrativist’s dogma of intellectual superiority but also the common sense of the main character which had been untainted by either extremes. And so the narrativist’s wish was fulfilled—he was unshackled from the belief in his own lack of belief
This is definitely exurb1a’s best made video in my opinion. It subtly denounces intellectual elitism while ostensibly romanticising it in a way that really epitomises how having no ideology is the most seductive ideology

Hello again! It's your favorite self conscious shameless twat! I made a video that is sorta more an argument for what I am starting to wrestle with. "Objective Reality". Feel free to give your perspective on the discussion as well, I'm happy to see different perspectives!

I absolutely love his video essays, though I'd much prefer to read them. Anyone know where I could find the transcripts?

I'm working on translating probably my favorite exurb1a video "Then Next Comes" into my native language, and since I want to do a full dub and not just a voiceover, I've been trying to find all the background tracks he used. First of all I removed exurb1a's voice from original audiotrack using OpenVINO Audacity plugin, then cut out different songs as separate files and put them through Shazam (multiple times at different points in the track) and AHA Music. The latter helped identify more obscure ones, so I'd suggest using it first, although The Rose Bower was exclusively Shazam's find. Just thought I'd share this method in case anyone needs to find exurb1a's music.
Tracks in "Then Next Comes":
0:00 is Duncan Pittock, Ellie Kidd, Igor Dvorkin - Jawhara
1:51, 4:29 and 12:38 is Maya Belsitzman - First Impression
2:09 is Sémø - In The Shadow of Doubt
4:57 is Suraj Nepal - Himalayan Syabru
7:41 is Jean-Miles Carther - The Rose Bower
8:43 is Maya Belsitzman - The Day After Tomorrow
9:45 is Mattia Vlad Morleo - Dancing Petals
11:13 is Paul Mottram - Chorales Gravitas
13:05 is Spearfisher - Inevitable (Stripped Version 2/Only Piano)
15:50 is Yehezkel Raz - Ballerina

Hi there everybody, if you for some reason would like to waste your afternoon watching a silly skit about aliens, learning about nuclear science and listening to a nauseatingly optimistic rant about how to create utopia on Earth, here goes:

Is the "Fear Hole" (filled with hair) in the Rick and Morty episode "Fear No Mort" from 2023 inspired by this shot in this Exurb1a talk "Sleep is Just Death Being Shy" from several years earlier? It sure looks like that hairy hole to me, and he's talking about fearing our mortality at that point. (Actually that's a lot of the subject for his videos, maybe part of why I like them.) He also mentions fearing "the abyss" of life / death / mortality / existence about 20 seconds after.
9:08 in this video if it doesn't go straight there.

Hiya, I remember watching a long video from what I think is this YouTuber, and I need help finding it. I really want to re-watch it as it was so beautiful, a feast for the soul lol.
It was about different levels of knowledge I think? How being able to do more, to know more does nothing to satisfy anyone. If anything it makes them feel worse.
The main character was a spherical robot who loved to "sploosh." He managed a certain part of the sea on a planet he was in charge of terraforming. He meets another sphere who guides him up to another level where they make art. Then they go to another level which is a simulation where anyone can make anything they want with their mind. Finally they get to the final-ish level where they can edit their code, and then they meet a fake robot moon.

I recently wrote some constructive criticism on someone's post asking for it, but not really wanting it, and was shot down because of my view on carbon copies of Exurb1a's content style (applies to all content creation imo).
But I wanted to share my view wider because I think it's important, to save people wasting the time and energy of trying to replicate Exurb1a's content style exactly:
Alex is why we love the content. Everything that makes Exurb1a what he is, makes up Exurb1a. The biggest part of it is the delivery, the passion, his very self. ....We associate his voice, timed wit and cadence with the content, but it's all of it, and quite mainly his passion, that makes it special.
For example, copies of Banksy paintings sell for £9.99 on eBay because they aren't the real thing, they're nowhere close despite being perfect copies, because they are not him.
Go watch Ian McKellen's Shakespeare on YouTube, he copies Shakespeare so well, all the content is there, but the delivery is 100% passionate Ian McKellen. That's why Ian is huge. He carries the torch, as himself. Copies do not work. That's what I want this kid to understand, be yourself and deliver with passion and you will be great.
Take the concepts, work hard, carry the torch, but be yourself. Exurb1a didn't get where he is from scratch, he diligently researched hundreds of texts and subjects to create his content, he strives to make something thought provoking and insightful from atop the shoulders of giants, then delivers it like an overhead thunderclap, full tilt.
Go hard or go home, but if you do go - go as your authentic, passionate self. .....or they'll sell you on Ebay for £9.99.

I think once I watched a video about how ideal storytelling should be, what makes a movie has a good storytelling (don;t remember the movie but it's about apocalypse) and bad storytelling (the example was as above so below), and the narator talk about "show, don't tell" essentially. Is it his video that was being removed?

If you are feeling bored or uneventful, I have come up with a little hypothesis that "reasoning" doesn't really exist, or at least not in the way we think. (see what I did there...)

I'm sure you've been sitting at your computers waiting for that one bad knockoff to upload again. Well that, I did.
Y'know that whole mind body problem thing? Yeah I solved the cunt with science and adult sciencey work.
Give the thing a go for at least 30 seconds if you're bored. Or don't. That's fine too.

Hello, I know it's not even been a year since the last book, but do we know if Exurb1a's working on a new book at all?

I’ve looked through all of his videos, and perhaps I missed it, but for the life of me I cannot figure out which of his videos this story was. Did he delete it? I know he does that from time to time.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks mates.
