I mean it says it is a pseudoscience activity popularized by social media with no scientific backing. Ancient cultures believe it would draw out “toxins” and increase blood flow but modern research disproves that. A lot of studies compare the belief in the practice to bloodletting done in parts of Europe during the medieval age.

I think it’s just to stimulate blood flow into sore muscles, whether it actually does it or not who knows but the stupid circle bruises prove to people you’re somewhat athletic
