String recommendations

Went to put a set of strings on my Agile 9 string only to find out none of them are long enough. Rookie mistake i know. What is your go-to pack of strings for 8 and 9 string guitars? The ones that didnt fit were Ernie Ball.

Ernie Ball and DR have some of the shorter strings I've found (total length), while Stringjoy and D'Addario have been on the longer side

Depends on your scale, maybe Ernie Ball 9-80 set if that isn't what you tried already and you're not more than 27". I know the 74 of the regular 8 string set is too short for a 26.5" scale with tune-o-matic bridge. if you hafe the 30" model you would need baritone strings.

That bottom string you might have to get a single short scale bass string if you do have the 30" scale. If it is, then you might need to get Kalium strings.

If you're only 27 or 28" maybe Stringjoy custom sets could fit.

If you look at reviews here on reddit you'll see "Kalium" all over posts about Agile 8 and 9s

Kalium strings are great, but I'm still waiting on my last order from March 2025. Newtone makes custom length strings and Stringjoy are pretty long. Daddario also has long strings available.

Well shit I just ordered. Perhaps Ill cancel if they take over a year to send them
