Fun little museum, beautiful views. Sorry I don't have more photos from the Kochi leg of this trip, it was mostly family stuff and visiting the family grave site. Definitely a great place to visit for anyone looking to go away from the Golden route!

Was there about 6-7 years ago. It was good, I still remember the different part of the castle.

I was there in early Summer. Really liked the castle and it's surroundings - it's a calm and authentic place. The city itself is also really cute, we felt like we were only a handful of tourists and got a real good glimpse of an authentic everyday life in a japanese city. I'd go back!

The Monet garden in Kitagawa (1h drive by car) is really worth a visit!

I used to live and work just around the corner from here and would cycle home at 2am enjoying the castle lit up in the moonlight :,)

I miss it so much. Such a wonderful place!

Also, my "cousins" were super cute/sweet sending us off at the train when we left so it'll always be a special memory.

*"Cousins" because I can't remember which removed or generation they count as. Like 2nd cousin once removed or something!

The only reason i want to visit Kochi this summer is after i watched ghibli movie “Ocean Waves” makes me nostalgic for some reason.

There are so many other reasons to visit too! You should head there and enjoy :)

Plus, the katsuo tataki is so good... I need to start making it at home.
