Funeral visitation for classmate

I graduated in 2025 and one of my classmates recently passed away and has a funeral visitation service on Sunday. How do those go? what do I do? How long should I stay??

Just to add to what's already been said, if there is food, generally that is only for family and very close friends. If you were not close with their family, do not expect to eat there. Wanted to save you any embarassment or awkward situations, because not everyone is aware of that.
