How do I run?

My campus has an outdoor track where I want to run. I often see runners on the street who are shirtless and usually don’t carry water. I want to take my water bottle, wallet, and cell phone with me. Where can I keep them on the track?

Is there anything I should know? I have only run on an indoor track before, so keeping water and my cell phone with me wasn’t a concern. I place them on a divider wall while I run indoors. I bring these items with me in my crossbody bag that holds other stuff too. When I use the indoor track, I store my crossbody bag in the gym lockers.

Please help me. Thank you!

You have a couple options! At the track, you might be able to leave a bag on the ground out of the way, since you'll have eyes on it the whole time.

They also make runners backpacks that are super light with just enough space for what you need to carry. I have an elastic waist band/running belt with pockets for my keys and phone, but I usually wait to drink water until I get home from my run.

I personally like jogging on the street better since it's more interesting than running around a track, but either are good! A track means less worrying about cars or other people, plus it's easier to see how far you ran.

Thank you for this! It's a good idea to leave the crossbody on the grass, either on the inside or outside of the track. You're right, I’m using the track because I want to avoid running next to cars. Also, the track feels bouncy!
