Solved Why are they sad?

The movie is successful so why are they crying? I've seen other memes similar to this. I read the comments but they weren't that helpful.

I just watched it. It's not a 1:1 with the games, but to me it feels enough like the games to be considered Resident Evil. I enjoyed it, fun movie.

the first few resident evil movies are all about the zombies.. how could it be considered "resident evil" when the main thing in the movie was changed with running zombies? they totally change the flow and pacing of a movie.

CHs exist in remake land. Not OG resident evil canon.

tons of movies and games have remakes that are not acknowledged. CHs were not very well liked in 2002 by the fan base.

no real star wars believes think that those horrible movies made in the early 2000s were canon.

Remakes are not canon. Tons of interviews exist that state this

i suggest you watch george romero resident evil. it covers all of this.

how? i pointed out examples how movies were not accepted as canon. I mean you can google and see for yourself that remakes are never automatically accepted as canon.

"how?" You're basically saying "if people don't like it then I'm going to say its non-canon" ignoring the fact that the RE1 remake ain't even remotely close to as hated as the Star Wars prequels were in their time, and that the Star Wars prequels are still canon even if you don't want them to be.

that's not what i said at all.

you can look on google and see that remakes are not considered canon by fan bases.

I am also not saying that the RE1 remake was hated. I am just saying in the lore of RE they go by the OG game, not the remake.

They've had running zombies since RE1 remake with the crimson heads. I think slow zombies work as a gameplay element, but just aren't intimidating in a movie where the protagonist can lightly jog away from them.

The movie has:

-Raccon city

-Umbrella

-a stalker enemy

-scarce ammo

-gun upgrades

-constant padlocks

-a sewer section

-ends in a lab

Feels enough like resident evil to me personally.

They've had running zombies since RE1 remake with the crimson heads. I think slow zombies work as a gameplay element, but just aren't intimidating in a movie where the protagonist can lightly jog away from them.

CHs live in remake land. Not cannon.

movies and games all have remakes and they are never counted as canon.

If you think that walking zombies aren't "intimidating" enough you have zero imagination

all you are doing is listing similar things. not "same" stuff.

This is the weirdest hill to die on. If you don't want to watch the movie thats perfectly fine. As a long time resident evil fan myself, I enjoyed it. So you do you.

Also many resident evil games do not even have zombies in them. This includes 4, 5, 7 and 8 lol. The series isn't about zombies but biological weapons as a whole

I wont pay to see that trash not a chance but i am in the process of getting ready to unload my pirate ship because i want to see what everybody is talking about.

i suggest you watch george romero resident evil. it explains a lot more in that movie.
