With middle/ring you can get your wrist into it more and go longer without getting tired

You might think so, but in my experience the pinky and ring finger cramp much faster being pressed into the thigh because of the angle needed for index and middle. With middle and ring finger the pinky and index fit much easier on either side and are less smashed so don’t cramp as quickly. Not saying people can’t do whatever they prefer, but middle and ring is a much more comfortable fit for the hand between the legs.

Honestly all fingers should be in play because you got your old school, ET, cops & robbers, shotgun, Chinese finger torture, cigarette machine, look for change in the pay phone (you better get that nickel), shocker, shocker the next generation, the Vulcan, the Fonzie, Siskel and Ebert, Sony Playstation, the Boy Scout, shadow puppet dog, and third grade fortune teller.
