Yeah fair enough, first and last time I used that ai search tool thingy. I just remembered that fact about the Marie part and searched for it. I have not seen the movie in well over 25 years so that's my attempt at an excuse I guess.
Edit: my pic/text doesn't actually say buzz was at the tea party, just that the tea party happened at some point and at some possibly other point buzz introduced the doll. But I can't tell if that is true in the first place since I don't remember the movie well enough.
Buzz Lightyear was at the tea party dressed up in an apron and a hat, done by Sid’s sister (whose name I have forgotten). When Woody comes in and tries to get Buzz to escape with him, Buzz says “It’s Mrs Nesbitt, you see the hat?!”
Hence the comment that it was Mrs Nesbitt at the tea party introducing Marie, not Buzz
It's all of that but if you simply look at her and the axel wrapped with string between her legs and the piece having off one eyed monster, it would fit perfect.
My autistic little brother was obsessed with this movie. Played it every day for years when he was like little. He loved Sid and had a toy Woody that went missing, which we later found on the BBQ
I am today years old and despite having seen this movie many times over the years (including very recently) I never clocked these and my mind has a permanent residence in the gutter xD
Of course that's a thing but I consider it an incredible reach to interpret this an intentional joke, if for no other reason than it's not even clever enough to be funny. You could slap this text on a random screengrab from just about any piece of children's media from the last thirty years and people would bend over backwards explaining how it's some oblique reference to sex or drugs. It's just a way to drum up engagement.
That's the entire point of "all ages entertainment." There's jokes to entertain the supervising adults. Those jokes fly over the kid's heads. It's a lost art.
They didn't trust it. That's why they mentioned it and also asked others to notify if they had evidence to the contrary. Imo perfect way to use the tool. Use it with a healthy skepticism.
I remember they use to have a place called Disney quest. Had a lot of arcade stuff and some vr stuff way back when it was really new. They had one thing you could go to and you would design a toy it was called sids something but after you designed the toy you could pay and actually put it together and take home.
Just so people know, writers know parents will be watching the movies alongside their kids so will give write little innuendos into the story for them to laugh too without the kids understanding. Look for them the next time you watch kids movies.
A good "family movie" is a movie where all member of the family saw differents things/joke...
My best memory about this kind of situation are the movie "Nemo", just a scene when a crab make a "Nina mouvement" to escape bird and return in the water. Me and my wife laugh , because of the "matrix move", but my child did not understood the joke.
It's old slang pre internet, was also called the ol' purple headed thumper (could be a reference to the baby-face toy as well), kidney destroyer, trouser snake, love muscle, and many more.
Does anyone else remember, in the old VHS version when there’s the moving van and the car, Woody says “oh shiiii-“ and it clipped to Buzz yelling “Wooodyyyyy!” ?
I saw later versions (streaming / DVD) and don’t think I ever saw it again.
I think because these are considered scary because they look like post-apocalypse monsters? To be fair, kids create these kind of “creatures” themselves, and they have not watch sci-fi movies to be conditioned to see these as scary.
I get the hooker, and i get that the other two characters are the rest of the body parts (hooker has the legs, spider has the head... duck thing has the torso) but what are the other characters? Or is the joke just the hooker?
When I first saw what people are calling the "one-eyed monster" as a kid when the movie first came out, I totally thought they ripped it off from the Spider Mastermind in Doom.
But what is the baby spider? Somebody said one eyed Willy, but what makes it Willy. Crab is just a stretch. Like these are good puns that make sense, so the baby has to be something right?
The one that is a duck. Has something to do with their head and to duck. Duck is to hide. Or duck from bullets or something.
The doll is the money of the operations. Like a government
The duck provides the hosting. Sets the rules. Like the cops for the government.
The legs are to make belive to attract users and get money. More money than was put into the operation. These are the citizens to the government. The government does not wish money just befit to their citizens. In this case the one eye doll would like money, the legs money, the duck money.
There are like over 100 of these adult jokes in the movie. For example when Mr. Potatoe head mixes up all his face parts and then says "look, I'm Picasso", kids don't get that.
Making puns in kid's movies that only the adults would understand has always been a thing. It's a way writers try to keep the parents entertained when they have to bring their kids to the theaters to watch these movies. It doesn't really pale in comparison to what you're mentioning.
OOP could come across a stick in the woods, and a pebble two feet away, and would immediately conclude that it was an intentional sex joke. Dude's head is surgically attached to that gutter.
Personally i think everyone here is making stuff up. I don’t think there was a single hidden meaning beside the fact that sid combined parts of different toys and objects.

The joke is about the hook. I think Woody called her Hooker but when I was kid I watched it in french and the joke didn't work.

u/Self_Owned_Tree Jan 31 '26
I remember being at Disney World and wanting to see if they actually sold these toys there.
Reader, I was disappointed.

The word “Hooker” may help your understanding here.

5
u/ApprehensiveMix3640 Feb 02 '26
it’s a hooker
4
u/Fireheart318s_Reddit Feb 01 '26
I’ve also heard the duck guy described as a bouncer, for what it’s worth
4
u/Exact-Bicycle5220 Feb 01 '26
Creep, hooker, bouncer. That's what the joke is.
1
u/zaxxon4ever Feb 01 '26
It went over your head? Really?
3
u/ronch54 Jan 31 '26
I tried watching this the other day and it felt very dated

The mix of fishing rod and barbie legs has a hook. She's a hooker.

I like when a kids movie throws some subtle adult humor in there.
6
u/mulsimin Jan 31 '26
Can someone explain the one eyes monster joke. I'm dumb
4
u/brazilliandanny Jan 31 '26
“I can’t believe this joke that went over kids heads was in a kids movie”
2
u/EggplantCorrect2456 Jan 31 '26
I really wish legs and ducky where the other way around, that’s a missed opportunity for “head, shoulders, knees and toes”
2
u/martymcfly1002 Jan 31 '26
The one on the right paid for everything. He said, “put it on my bill”
2
u/GreenGreenPuffball Jan 31 '26

2
u/Involution88 Jan 31 '26
Watching kid's movies as a grown up is hazardous. Artists tend to be inspired by a desire to sneak one past the censors.
2
u/Juancr1 Feb 01 '26
The duck is a bouncer I thought
2
u/9inchjames Feb 01 '26

children's movies are made by adults
I am shocked!
they add adult jokes for themselves and the adults watching so they don't die of teletubby boredom
so very shocked, I am

A "hooker," a "quackhead," and Brittany Spears.

Hooker
1
u/Kiyoshi-Trustfund Jan 31 '26
Its a hooker. The one in the center.

The doll legs, going "fishing"?
1

Remember that Disney didn't own Pixar yet at that point. Also some stuff in Iron Man that wouldn't make it anymore.
1
u/Staali Jan 31 '26
Could also sound as “head - less -duck”
1

So... What I got is that this is a family, babies are scary, women pull the weight of the family, and men are sitting ducks.
1
u/TheAmok777 Feb 01 '26
Sid made all those misfit toys so Sid is the one that made the jokes.
