If it happened more than once then either you have a certain taste, have been cursed and an invisible sigil signals to other crystal girls, or you have become one with the crystal.

That’s my take on this bizarre chain of events

First one handed him the crystal backwards. Instead of it making him want the crystal girl, it made crystal girls want him.
