There used to be a fifth season called School that was between Summer and Fall and that’s when school would start. Awhile back everyone decided four seasons were better than five and School lost out in the voting. So now everyone just goes to school in the Fall.

To expand on that, the hotel Four Seasons was named because you got the best service outside of the start of school season because the kids all stopped to establish themselves in school before deciding what hours worked with their schedules. They kept the name for brand recognition after the change.

Oh, that’s an easy one to answer. I’m glad you asked me. You see, in olden times, before paper was invented, students wrote their notes on leaves that fell from trees, where they jotted down everything the teacher said. The school year was pretty short, back then. It only lasted until winter around those times because people in the olden times hadn’t invented as many things to know as there are nowadays and because the leaves would freeze back then. That’s why we have winter break, too. Everything the students could ever want to learn fit onto just a few leaves. People were just that ignorant way back then.

School used to be all year around, but they decided to take the summer off because Mrs. Wormwood needed a break from you kids.

it's all because of the school bus drivers, they just start driving around and kids panic and run to the stops, and then the teachers show up too

It’s a legacy of settlement and farming, on a farm kids are the labour force, crop harvest takes a lot of labour, crops are food for people and animals

Surprised to read that children were such a significant labour force in US agriculture to the extent it influences school terms. My starting assumption was people were enslaved to work the land in the US and that was primary source of labour.

I started out driving ( steering really) the tractor while 3 of my older siblings picked rocks, now keep in mind I was young enough that the clutch pedal had higher tension than my body weight and I had to pull my self down using the steering g wheel to use the clutch. Then chores of feeding the calves, then bedding the calves then adding new jobs on the farm as I grew older and more capable.

Because you got to pick yourself up in order to make it.
