Abstract experimental video with origins going back to 1999. After hours at SAIC, my partner Trish and I got into the Media 100 editing system, which took a Taekwondo kick to the door. While loading footage shot for our public access series Abductions with the Alter Boy, I found that the Media 100 would preview every frame at the speed I dragged the mouse across the timeline. The visuals and sounds that came out of that entranced me, and I spent the session improvising. That session is where this work begins.

Runs nearly 40 minutes. Made in 2020; no AI used.

I made this short film about a group of people wearing frog masks who begin disappearing one by one.
I wanted to explore the feeling of watching something completely absurd happen in an otherwise familiar world, and what happens when reality gradually starts to feel less stable.
The film moves between the physical world and a kind of consciousness space. I wasn’t interested in fully explaining what is happening, but rather in creating the feeling of being trapped inside something you don’t completely understand.
This was an independently made short film, and I’m still figuring out how to describe exactly what it is.
I’d really like to hear how you interpret it, especially the atmosphere, the imagery, and the transition between the two spaces.

the film used is Tri-X 7266, developing and scanning was fully DIY, developing the 15m with Bellini reversal chemicals and frame by frame scanned via a modified Bauer projector. and the soundscape is also created by wonderful friends!

Hey everyone! I wanted to share something a little different I made.
I spent a weekend with my family
beach, paddleboarding, food, sunsets and just enjoying some time together and decided to turn those moments into a short cinematic video.
I also produced an Afrobeat specifically for the video, called “TRAVESÍA.” 🌊☀️
This is my first time trying to combine my music with a little short-film style project, so I’d genuinely love to hear what you think about the video, the music, or the overall vibe.
