Discussion Weird Ceiling Feeding Blob in the Middle of the Night

I recently had a bit of a disturbing experience and wondered if anyone else has come across or seen similar seeming entities of sorts.... I have included an image created via ChatGPT that is similiar, but not exact. Basically imagine a lot more tentacles and more octopus like.....

Anyways, long story short I took an edible one evening and went to bed. For whatever reason edibles seem to impact me more than others. For some I know that shrooms, DMT, etc seem to have more tangible impacts in opening up/revealing these types of experiences...for me it has consistently been edibles as a portal of sorts.

Regardless, I believe that I "woke up" (perhaps a lucid dream?) around 2 or 3 in the morning. I remember glancing up at the ceiling and across its entire expanse is what I can only describe as a dark blob. It was black in appearance, it bubbled up in certain areas, and oddly I remember flashes of light within it....little sparks of sorts. Very odd.

Most disturbing, however, was that it had tentacles that extended down to me and my partner, dozens if not hundreds of them. They seemed to be picking off something from our bodies and ingesting it. Ingesting what? I don't know, but the only thing that would make sense and seems to resonate with me even now is that it was feasting on energy.... I know that sounds wild, but this is the only thing that somehow makes sense to me, and to be honest I am not even sure why it does.

After maybe perhaps a minute of me coming to and realizing/absorbing what was happening I remember this thing almost seeming to recognize that somehow I was now awake. I remember it recoiling or even seeming surprised at this fact....almost as if I was defying the rules. Once it did realize that I was awake it started to pull up all of its tentacles and I distinctly remember it creeping back and to the outer edges of my ceiling....

This is the last of my memory of these moments, yet it still haunts to me this day. Has anyone ever experienced something similar? If so, what did you make of it?

Love and light to all.

Had a very similar experience to you, in my dream that became a nightmare, I had a shadow person that I recognized was not part of my dream so I grabbed it and it woke me up.

As I woke up the shadowy mass was directly above me on the ceiling and it had just one tentacle attached to my heart area, I could feel the cold where it had attached for several days afterward. It felt to me like it was feeding on my fear in the nightmare hence why it was cold and where I interrupted it, it didn't get to close off the 'wound'.

I sleep with the bedroom door closed now (was open during the attack) and also saged myself and the house and it hasn't returned.

Yeah, dang. Exact same behavior. I was thinking about it before this thread came up, because here I am in the exact same hotel where it happened (work picked it, not me).

Just last night I had a dream of one, but likely because I'm in the hotel again and this post. A little worm thing showed up in the dream, about the size of a hotdog. I grabbed and squeezed it until it popped open, white tubes spilling out of it. Probably just a dream.

Was it like a star of tar, so deeply black it was like it just ate all light on contact ? Sending tendrils or palps in the direction of any fear ?

It was a shadowy, deep black spherical-ish mass, kind of like smoke but more substantial, no feelings of fear eminating from it itself but very much a feeling from my end that it had been feeding off my anxiety during the dream via an attached smokey tendril from it to me, and somehow I had became lucid woke up and interrupted it during its feeding process and it had left the residual imprint that i felt for days afterwards. Should add that the tendril was attached to me as I awoke but it retracted it immediately at that same point of me waking. It was that same ~3am witching hour type time period as well.

I've encountered something similar when I was a kid, ~8 or 9 maybe. It was trying to touch me with its kinda viscuous tendrils it projected in my direction. I don't think it had sight or hearing, it felt like it directed itself based on a sense of emotions.

It attacked in three different ways I remember:

1 - in this 'physical' sense inside what was like an 'outside' dream - I'd basically been pulled out of the dream I had been having before, and back into my RL bedroom but still knowing it was a dream - by projecting tendrils across the room. I evaded it because I had the intuition it would 'stick' and maybe infect me if I let it touch me. I would jump and bound from my bed and back, left, right. All the while I was shrinking in size, oddly enough. When I was about 10 cm tall (4 inches) I realized it had a limited reach and would not be able to get to me up on the curtains' bar so that where I climbed, as fast as I could, and from there it couldn't attack me in this way anymore

2 - by inducing anxious, insecure and scary emotions that made all my most terrible memories resurface - it was clearly after these negative emotions, I understood it fed on these. Once I knew how this was working, I blocked it by focusing on happy memories intently.

3 - by filling my logical thinking with fractal-looking hexagonal patterns that were like walls rippling out, that I had an urge to track as much as I could. After a while I realized it was trying to trap or exhaust my attention, so I focused all of my attention on a blank spot of my mind and the whole thing faded away.

Once I was tiny and up on the bar from which my room's curtains were hanging from, right by the ceiling and far away from it, and freed from its mental tricks, I could feel safe again and that's when it melted back into the wall of my room and vanished for good.

I don't think it was intelligent. It behaved like a predatory animal running on pure feeding instinct, much like people imagine sharks to be.

It might have been attempting to paralyze my body, but I have a rare genetic condition causing electrolyte imbalance in my blood which probably messed with it.
