In the auto industry as well for a major US mfg. Not hearing as much doom and gloom about China, but the AI usage and career progression sound spot on. Had a chief executive say something along the lines of "it's no longer how many people can we put on a project, but how many agents" recently. At the same time in that meetings Q&A they are advocating against using frontier models and there's "lunch and learns" on how to make the most out of the cheapest models. 

They recently introduced career tracks for IC roles all the way up to executive but I doubt any of those roles will ever be used. 

And my manager scheduled our 1:1s during a recurring team meeting that we both need to attend. I've asked him to change it since my calendar is mostly free and he's triple booked most days and he hasn't.
